Since the \u201cEdge of Seventeen\u201d rocker, 76, was in attendance for the show, Taylor dedicated the song to her during the \u201cSurprise Songs\u201d portion of her setlist.<\/p>\nBefore beginning the song, Taylor sang Stevie\u2019s praises, speaking about how she\u2019s been a strong force in the music industry for young artists. \u201cA friend of mine is here, who is watching the show, who has really been one of the reasons why I\u2014or any female artist gets to do what we get to do. She\u2019s paved the way for us,\u201d she said. \u201cShe\u2019s mentored so many artists that you don\u2019t even know she\u2019s doing it. She\u2019s become friends with so many female artists just to become a guiding hand. I can\u2019t tell you how rare that is.\u201d<\/p>\n
Before revealing that she was speaking about the Fleetwood Mac singer, Taylor spoke about her own friendship with Stevie. \u201cShe\u2019s a hero of mine, and also someone that I could tell her any secret, she\u2019d never tell anybody,\u201d she said. \u201cShe\u2019s really helped me through so much over the years. I\u2019m talking about Stevie Nicks.\u201d<\/p>\n
