When enough points have been collected, they are then redeemable against items from the Sony brand, including <a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/tag\/playstation\/\">PlayStation<\/a> video games.<\/p>\n<p>Now though, the company has introduced the cancellation of the program through an update to its Terms and Conditions page.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">The Sony Rewards program will end on December 31, 2024. The Sony Rewards website and mobile application (\u201cmobile app\u201d) will no longer be available after that date,\u201d the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rewards.sony.com\/faq\">company writes<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This program shouldn\u2019t be confused with the PlayStation Stars program which focuses on digital collectibles as this will be unaffected and remain separate from the rewards scheme.<\/p>\n<p>This change could leave current credit cardholders wondering about the benefits going forward, but they will have the option to earn points by making purchases with either the Sony or PlayStation Visa credit card. They\u2019ve been told that further information will be provided in due course about how the changes will affect them.<\/p>\n<h2><b>Reactions are bleak to the termination of the Sony Rewards Program<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>After taking to the X platform (formerly Twitter) to share the news, Sony has received a generally negative response to the announcement.<\/p>\n<p>One user said: \u201cLol guess I\u2019ll be canceling this card\/never using it again after this year.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\" data-dnt=\"true\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Been using Rewards since 2013 <br \/>Good things don&#8217;t last forever <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/XmO7sh760a\">pic.twitter.com\/XmO7sh760a<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Evidins (@Evidins_Gaming) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Evidins_Gaming\/status\/1803821213300437015?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 20, 2024<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Others share the same sentiment as they brand the credit cards pointless, with \u2018no reason\u2019 to use them going forward.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWow, that\u2019s really messed up, I hate to see it end! Been had the card since they first advertised it on PS3!
