In response to that, another user chimes in with \u201cExactly. The movie looks like a perfect example of a product made by a committee.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><noscript><iframe title=\"Borderlands (2024) Official Trailer - Cate Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lU_NKNZljoQ?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<h2>Borderlands director explains reaction he wants to evoke<\/h2>\n<p>Eli Roth is refuting the early criticism, insisting it will live up to expectations.<\/p>\n<p>In conversation with<span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamesradar.com\/entertainment\/action-movies\/borderlands-director-defends-guardians-of-the-galaxy-comparions\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Total Film <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">about the comparisons, the director stated, \u201cThere\u2019s going to be similarities no matter what you do, just because of the nature of the subject matter.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI was very conscious of not remaking Guardians. (Audiences will) see the movie, and they\u2019ll see it\u2019s different.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>On the challenge of successfully adapting the themes of the smash-hit video game into the film, Roth added, <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cI said, \u2018I don\u2019t want (audiences) to be like, \u2018Oh, that was a good video game movie.\u2019 I want them to say, \u2018That was a really fun science-fiction film, period\u2019.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The reception to the movie will be an interesting one.
