Justin Timberlake<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s lawyer is prepared to \u201cvigorously\u201d defend the pop star in court. In a statement obtained by Hollywood Life<\/strong> from Edward Burke Jr., the attorney noted, \u201cI will have a lot to say at the appropriate time but am currently awaiting full discovery from the District Attorney\u2019s office.\u201d<\/p>\n

Burke added in his statement, \u201cI look forward to vigorously defending Mr. Timberlake on these allegations.\u201d<\/p>\n

On Tuesday, June 18, the 43-year-old NSYNC member was pulled over by a police officer while driving in the Hamptons on Long Island, New York. According to the criminal complaint obtained by CNN<\/a>, Timberlake allegedly didn\u2019t stop at a stop sign and allegedly wasn\u2019t driving in his lane while behind the wheel of a 2025 BMW.<\/p>\n

The arresting officer claimed that Justin\u2019s eyes were \u201cbloodshot and glassy,\u201d and \u201che had slowed speech, he was unsteady afoot and he performed poorly on all standardized field sobriety tests.\u201d Additionally, the \u201cEverything I Thought I was\u201d artist refused to take a Breathalyzer test three times, per the complaint by the arresting officer. He was then charged with one count of driving while intoxicated and two traffic violations.<\/p>\n

He also reportedly informed<\/a> the officer, \u201cI had one martini, and I followed my friends home.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to a statement from Burke obtained by Us Weekly<\/em><\/a>, the lawyer noted, \u201cThe charge was a single count because he refused the breath test. Mr. Timberlake was also charged with two other court citations, running a stop sign and not traveling in the correct traffic lane.\u201d<\/p>\n

Timberlake was subsequently arrested<\/a> at around 12:30 a.m. and was processed at the Sag Harbor Police Department. Hours later, he was released from police custody.<\/p>\n

The Sag Harbor Police Department did not immediately respond to Hollywood Life<\/strong>\u2018s request for comment.<\/p>\n

Timberlake\u2019s arrest took place amid his Forget Tomorrow World<\/em> tour. He is scheduled to perform in Chicago later this week and is expected to return to New York next week to take the stage at Madison Square Garden.<\/p>\n

After Timberlake was released from police custody, his wife, Jessica Biel<\/strong><\/a>, was spotted<\/a> filming her upcoming Prime Video series, The Better Sister<\/em>, in Manhattan.<\/p>\n

Neither Biel nor Timberlake has publicly commented on his arrest.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
