I bought this originally to make pineapple sherbet that is so hard to find in stores. After making that, plus vanilla, chocolate, and butter pecan ice cream, I don\u2019t know how I lived this long without this machine. I bought this size so it would make enough for my husband and myself. Found out one batch will make about 4-5 servings for us. I do freeze the paddle along with the bucket as some one else suggested and found my ice cream\/sherbet is soft serve-ready in 10-15 minutes. I am now experimenting using skim milk substitution for some of the whole milk\/cream. It is not that loud to be annoying as some have stated, not different than other ice cream makers.
