Gerry Turner<\/strong> <\/a>and Theresa Nist<\/strong> <\/a>are officially divorced. Two months after announcing their split<\/a> on Good Morning America<\/em><\/a>, the Golden Bachelor<\/em><\/a> season 1 alums finalized their divorce<\/a> in Indiana on Wednesday, June 13.<\/p>\n

According to court documents obtained by Entertainment Tonight<\/em>,<\/a> Gerry, 72, and Theresa, 70, \u201clived together as husband and wife until April 12, 2024, at which time certain irreconcilable differences heretofore arisen between the parties culminated in their separation.\u201d<\/p>\n

That month, the former pair announced their separation on GMA<\/em>, and they revealed that the reason was because of distance.<\/p>\n

\u201cTheresa and I have had a number of heart-to-heart conversations, and we\u2019ve looked closely at our situation, our living situation and so forth, and we\u2019ve kind of come to the conclusion mutually that it\u2019s probably time for us to dissolve our marriage,\u201d Gerry \u2014 who is from Indiana \u2014 explained. Theresa, for her part, lives in New Jersey.<\/p>\n

Gerry added that he and Theresa are \u201cdedicated\u201d to their families, noting, \u201cSo, we look at these conversations, and we both think it\u2019s best for the happiness of each of us to live apart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later that week, Theresa took to Instagram<\/a> with a positive mindset about her and Gerry\u2019s split. In her caption, the ABC personality encouraged her fans to \u201cstay open to all experiences, opportunities and love that may come your way.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cTo everyone who has expressed love, support and kindness to me I thank you from the bottom of my heart,\u201d Theresa wrote alongside a Dr. Seuss quote that read, \u201cDon\u2019t cry because it\u2019s over; smile because it happened.\u201d She added, \u201cFor everyone else who is confused and angry and who does not understand, please try to find it in your heart to understand and to try a little kindness. Not just for me but for the world and for everyone you encounter.\u201d<\/p>\n

Theresa described her and Gerry\u2019s relationship as \u201cone of the most incredible experiences of my life, something I never expected to happen at this point in my life and I truly thought it was going to last forever.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt turns out, even at the age of 70, you don\u2019t know everything,\u201d she pointed out. \u201cSometimes, things don\u2019t go the way you planned and that\u2019s OK. I take so many positives away from this experience, most importantly and above all, the incredible friends I now have in all of these amazing, wonderful women and in Angie and Jenny, Payton and Charlee, the producers, the production crew and so many of you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
