June \u201cMama June\u201d Shannon<\/strong><\/a> is not slowing down in her weight-loss journey. Before a new season of Mama June: Family Crisis<\/i> kicks off, the reality star is sharing an update on her health.<\/p>\n

\u201cEven though I\u2019m losing weight, I\u2019m only about three to four pounds [down] a week,\u201d Mama June told Entertainment Tonight<\/i><\/a> in an interview published Wednesday, June 12. \u201cIt isn\u2019t as fast as a gastric sleeve or a gastric bypass, but it is doing it, like, more safer.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2015, Mama June underwent a gastric sleeve surgery to lose weight. In the past year, however, she admitted to gaining between 120 and 130 pounds.<\/p>\n

Between working out three or four times a week, changing her eating habits and using weight-loss medications,<\/a> Mama June said she is getting healthier and hoping to lose 74 more pounds.<\/p>\n

\u201cMama\u2019s thing is like, when she\u2019s really strict on herself, she\u2019s really strict on herself,\u201d Lauryn \u201cPumpkin\u201d Efird<\/strong> said before commenting that her mom has gone \u201ca little overboard with it.\u201d<\/p>\n

While losing weight is important to Mama June, maintaining her sobriety is also a big priority. As she continues to grieve the death<\/a> of her daughter Anna \u201cChickadee\u201d Cardwell<\/strong><\/a>, the reality star is inching closer to her 5-year sobriety milestone.<\/p>\n
