Authors will retain like counters and will be able to see who liked their posts, but you won&#8217;t get detailed lists for other people&#8217;s posts. <\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">This week we\u2019re making Likes private for everyone to better protect your privacy.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 You will still be able to see posts you have liked (but others cannot).<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 Like count and other metrics for your own posts will still show up under notifications.<\/p>\n<p>\u2013 You will no longer see who\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Engineering (@XEng) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/XEng\/status\/1800634371906380067?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">June 11, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Elon Musk, the Owner and Executive Chairman of X, said in a separate post it was &#8220;important to allow people to like posts without getting attacked for doing so.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Creators and paying users were not satisfied with the change, claiming they couldn&#8217;t track post engagement and would boost platform manipulation through paid likes. However, this might allow users to like more stuff, knowing they won&#8217;t be bullied for doing so.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"inline-image\" width=\"1200\" height=\"750\" src=\"https:\/\/fdn.gsmarena.com\/imgroot\/news\/23\/07\/twitter-to-become-x\/-1200\/gsmarena_001.jpg\" alt=\"X is now making Likes private for everyone\"\/><\/p>\n<p>Making this feature available to anyone will however remove one of the reasons to get the premium subscription.
