Katie Holmes<\/a><\/strong> revealed that she is unaware of the <\/span>Dawson\u2019s Creek <\/span><\/i><\/a>WhatsApp group chat in an interview with The <\/em><\/a><\/span>Sunday Times<\/span><\/i> released on Saturday, June 8. \u201cAll of us text every now and then, but I wasn\u2019t aware of the WhatsApp,\u201d shared the 45-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m really bad at WhatsApp. I never check it because it\u2019s a little too much\u2026Everyone\u2019s grown up and is busy, but the bond will forever be there,\u201d added the mother-of-one.<\/span><\/p>\n

Dawson\u2019s Creek <\/span><\/i>was a banger from 1998 to 2003, starring \u2013 aside from Katie \u2013\u00a0 James Van Der Beek<\/a><\/strong>, Joshua Jackson<\/a><\/strong>, Michelle Williams<\/a><\/strong>, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

Joshua \u2013the creator of the groupchat \u2013 told The Times<\/em> in April 2023, \u201cIt doesn\u2019t get a lot of use, but every once in a while someone will crop up,\u201d he said. \u201c[In January] we passed the 25th anniversary [of the show] so there was a flurry of texts. It really centers around, \u2018Oh my God, I can\u2019t believe that we all went through that thing together.\u2019 It\u2019s obviously such a formative point in all our lives.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

During this interview, he even shared how the realness of it all is what made it a hit show. \u201cI think the secret to the show was that it didn\u2019t talk to young people like they\u2019re stupid\u2026Those characters and what they were going through felt real. We were trying to tell stories about those moments in your life, and we were close enough to it in our own ages that we deeply remembered what that angst was,\u201d said the Pace Witter actor.<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite the show being an oldie, it has remained a goodie. The Dawson\u2019s Creek alum admitted on Sirius XM\u2019s The Jess Cagle Show,<\/em> \u201cI mean, I\u2019m kind of amazed that people are connecting to it only because the world was\u2026 it was right before phones \u2014 well, I mean, there were flip phones and things \u2014 but before the internet really took off and social media\u2026Life now is so different than the simplicity that was portrayed between this group of friends\u2026It\u2019s great that people are connecting\u2026 we had a really good time making it.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Though most of the cast remains in touch via a WhatsApp group, they reunited in 2018 for the cover of Entertainment Weekly<\/em> in honor of their 20th anniversary. \u201cI think we\u2019ve all sort of seen each other over the years, but not everybody all together,\u201d voiced Katie.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
