Will Ferrell<\/a><\/strong> went bananas for the possibility of becoming <\/span>People\u2019s Sexiest Man Alive<\/span><\/i> title while speaking to the publication<\/a> at the <\/span>Despicable Me 4 <\/span><\/i><\/a>premiere in New York City on Sunday, June 9. \u201cPlanting the seeds\u2026because you guys never have comedians. So, get it going internally, all right? Sexiest Man,\u201d the 56-year-old added.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cCome on. Vote for comedians,\u201d Will added.<\/span><\/p>\n

While posing on the yellow carpet in a tracksuit, the <\/span>Elf<\/span><\/i> actor channeled his inner Maxime Le Mal \u2013 the villain he plays in the family film \u2013\u00a0 or as he liked to call it, \u201ca sexy, soccer-playing villain.\u201d He wore a cream Adidas jacket, black pants, and topped it off with a pair of black sunglasses.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Aside from this villain aiming to be the \u201cSexiest Man Alive,\u201d some fellow comedians have won before such as Will\u2019s <\/span>Anchorman<\/span><\/i> co-star Paul Rudd<\/a><\/strong> in 2021 and Ryan Reynolds<\/a> <\/strong>in 2010.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI mean I\u2019m going to lean into it hard. I\u2019m going to own this\u2026I\u2019m not going to try to be like \u2018Oh, I\u2019m so modest,\u2019 I\u2019m getting business cards made\u2026But all of my friends will destroy me and I expect them to. And that\u2019s why they\u2019re my friends,\u201d expressed the <\/span>A<\/span>ntman<\/span><\/i> actor when he won the title.<\/span><\/p>\n

When the <\/span>Deadpool<\/span><\/i> actor was crowned he admitted, \u201cWell, there was a little moment of disbelief [when you get named \u201cSexiest Man Alive\u201d], and then you kind of settle into it. Really, you just have to go with the flow.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Despite celebrating the minion franchise, Will was able to reunite with his <\/span>Anchorman <\/span><\/i>co-stars Steve Carell<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 who plays Gru in DM4<\/em> \u2014 and Kristen Wiig<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 who portrays Lucy. \u201cAnd I think at the time, we couldn\u2019t believe we were getting to make such a weird, bizarre movie\u2026\u201cSo I\u2019m just so happy that it has kind of stayed in the zeitgeist all these years,\u201d he told <\/span>People<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Steve shared on the carpet, \u201cEvery day was just a laugh out loud funny moment. The hard part with him [Will] is not cracking up during the scene because he\u2019s always trying different things and he would kind of do that almost to be mean to people, I think.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Despicable Me 4<\/span><\/i> \u2013 the sixth movie in the overall franchise \u2013 is set to release in theatres on July 3. <\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
