Billie Eilish<\/strong><\/a> might have millions of fans, but her inner circle tightened once she became famous. While appearing on the BBC\u2019s \u201cMiss Me?\u201d podcast on Monday, June 10, the 22-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that she lost all of her friendships after her music career skyrocketed her to stardom.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell, I lost all of my friends when I got famous,\u201d the \u201cWhat Was I Made for?\u201d vocalist said. \u201cI suddenly was famous and I couldn\u2019t relate to anybody. It was tough. It was really hard.\u201d<\/p>\n

While pointing out that she is \u201cvery freaked out by loss, and I have a lot of abandonment problems,\u201d Billie recalled a former employee of hers quitting and not speaking to her afterward.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd then it was my 20th birthday, and I remember looking around the room and it was only people that I employ. And all 15 years or more older than me,\u201d she explained.\u00a0\u201cIt was the worst thing that happened to me. And that made me realize like, \u2018Oh wait, this is a job.\u2019 If they left me, they would never see me again.’\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the rough patch she went through, the Oscar winner revealed that she caught up with \u201ca bunch of old friends\u201d last year. Now, she has a larger friend group, Billie added.<\/p>\n

\u201cExactly a year ago, I reconnected with a bunch of old friends and now, I have so many friends,\u201d the \u201cBad Guy\u201d hitmaker noted. \u201cI have a crew now. I could literally cry about it. It\u2019s been the greatest thing that\u2019s happened to me. \u2026 I was like, \u2018Guys, I have friends and I just love you guys so much, and it\u2019s been so long since I\u2019ve had friends.\u2019 I cried, and it\u2019s literally because I actually have friendship now again.\u201d<\/p>\n

Billie was only 14 years old when she became recognizable. The \u201cOcean Eyes\u201d artist has collaborated with her brother, record producer Finneas O\u2019Connell<\/strong><\/a>, over the past several years. After releasing \u201cBad Guy\u201d in 2019, Billie quickly climbed the ladder of fame. Eventually, she was tapped to write a song for the hit 2023 movie Barbie<\/em><\/a>, which she later won an Academy Award for. Earlier this year, Billie released her album, Hit Me Hard and Soft<\/em>.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
