Julia Louis-Dreyfus<\/a><\/strong> spoke out on \u201cthe extreme left and PC crap\u201d comment made by her Steinfeld<\/em><\/a> co-star, Jerry Seinfeld<\/a><\/strong> via The New York Times<\/em><\/a><\/span>.\u00a0 \u201cIf you look back on comedy and drama both, let\u2019s say 30 years ago, through the lens of today, you might find bits and pieces that don\u2019t age well\u2026And I think to have an antenna about sensitivities is not a bad thing. It doesn\u2019t mean that all comedy goes out the window as a result. When I hear people starting to complain about political correctness \u2014 and I understand why people might push back on it \u2014 but to me that\u2019s a red flag, because it sometimes means something else. I believe being aware of certain sensitivities is not a bad thing. I don\u2019t know how else to say it,\u201d shared the 63-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n Despite their long-term work relationship, Julia gave her perspective on the subject and expressed, \u201cMy feeling about all of it is that political correctness, insofar as it equates to tolerance, is obviously fantastic\u2026And of course I reserve the right to boo anyone who says anything that offends me, while also respecting their right to free speech, right? But the bigger problem \u2014 and I think the true threat to art and the creation of after \u2014 is the consolidation of money and power.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n The 1989 show\u2019s alums worked together on the show for nine seasons and played the roles of Jerry Seinfeld and Elaine Benes. Alongside these two, Jason Alexander<\/a><\/strong> and Michael Richards<\/a><\/strong> co-starred. Julia admitted that the show would not be made for present time due to the comedy \u201coffending other people\u201d nowadays.<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0\u200b\u200b\u201dWhen <\/span>Seinfeld<\/span><\/i> was made, it was really unlike anything that was on at the time\u2026It was just a bunch of losers hanging out. So I would say one main reason it wouldn\u2019t be made now is because it\u2019s hard to get anything different recognized,\u201d voiced the Veep<\/em> actress.<\/span><\/p>\n With the times changing, the concept of comedy not doing well now on TV came into play when Jerry spoke to the <\/span>New Yorker Radio Hour<\/span><\/i>. \u201cWe did an episode of the series in the \u201990s where Kramer decides to start a business of having homeless pull rickshaws because, as he says, they\u2019re outside anyway\u2026Do you think I could get that episode on the air today?\u201d shared the 70-year-old.<\/span><\/p>\n Despite this, Julia recalled how <\/span>Seinfeld<\/span><\/i> will always be a great part of her life. \u201cThere was a real grief period when the show ended that was real and felt\u2026Because we all loved each other so much,\u201d she told <\/span>People<\/span><\/i> in May 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n![\"cast](\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/06\/julia-jerry-seinfeld-embed.jpg?quality=100&w=650\")
