While speaking with <strong>Jon Caramanica<\/strong> on <em>The New York Times\u2019 <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=2BxIREqcGEU\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">\u201cPopcast\u201d<\/a> on Wednesday, June 5, the <em>Uncut Gems<\/em> actress, 34, acknowledged that she has \u201cfully wrestled back total control of [her] image\u201d after <a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/pics\/kanye-west-julia-fox-photos\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\">dating<\/a> the \u201cStronger\u201d rapper, 46.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-3\">\u201cYou know, it was actually a blessing that he came into my life,\u201d Julia said, adding, \u201cbecause he kind of shook up my team in a way where a lot of the creative control was then given back to me. Whereas I feel like for a couple of years there, I would still feel this pressure to pretend to be this Hollywood starlet that I, like, wasn\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-4\">The model recalled arguing with her team about her public image, noting that she\u2019d \u201cbe really upset\u201d when she wasn\u2019t heard.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"embed-youtube\" style=\"text-align:center; display: block;\"><iframe title=\"Julia Fox Interview! Kanye Lessons, Her Infamous Apartment, Charli XCX &amp; Being an Anti-\u2018It Girl\u2019\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/2BxIREqcGEU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-5\">\u201cI\u2019d get into fights about it and be really upset about it, but then ultimately always concede and just do what they wanted me to do because it was easier than arguing,\u201d Julia continued. \u201cSo then after that, [Ye] came in and was like, \u2018Wait a minute, no, f**k that, I\u2019m gonna do what I wanna do.&#8217;\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-6\">Since Ye and Julia\u2019s relationship didn\u2019t go the distance, she revealed what happened once they broke up.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-7\">\u201cBut then when he left, it was like, \u2018Well, I\u2019m gonna do what I wanna do,\u2019 you know?\u201d Julia added. \u201cI kind of felt like, \u2018Oh my god, the world is my oyster.\u2019 I\u2019m my own muse.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-8\">Although Ye helped open up more doors for her, Julia acknowledged the<a href=\"https:\/\/hollywoodlife.com\/2024\/04\/25\/julia-fox-admits-kanye-west-month-long-romance-left-a-sour-taste-in-her-mouth\/\" data-analytics-trigger=\"article-body-link\"> online banter<\/a> over the attention she was receiving, attributing it to her past romance with the Grammy winner.<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-9\">\u201cAnd then I started to hear this whole thing. \u2018She\u2019s only killing it in fashion because it\u2019s Kanye, it\u2019s Kanye,&#8217;\u201d Julia pointed out. \u201cAnd I was like, \u2018No, these are my looks, and I\u2019m putting them together.\u2019 So, I felt like that was what I needed to push against, and prove that I\u2019m doing this, and I wasn\u2019t doing it before because my team just wanted me to look basic.\u201d<\/p>\n<p id=\"content-paragraph-10\">Julia and Ye briefly dated in 2022.
