Mariska Hargitay<\/a> <\/strong>recalled the early days of her relationship with Peter Hermann<\/a><\/strong> while speaking to <\/span>Entertainment Tonight<\/span><\/i><\/a> at the Gotham TV Awards<\/a> on Tuesday, June 4. \u201cMy knees getting weak\u2026It\u2019s so amazing, It\u2019s so amazing,\u201d shared the 60-year-old while speaking on their first encounter.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

With almost 25 years of marriage together \u2013 having tied the knot in 2004 \u2013 they have welcomed three kids into the world: August, Amaya, and Andrew.<\/span><\/p>\n

Adding onto the milestones, the <\/span>Law and Order: Special Victims Unit <\/span><\/i>actress also celebrated 25 years playing Olivia Benson. \u201c<\/span>It\u2019s been incredible. It\u2019s been 25 years and I haven\u2019t been able to take it in until this year. I think [because of] the milestone of it all\u2026I was walking into my wrap party with my 17-year-old son [and] I remember going, \u2018We\u2019re going to the wrap party of my TV show that has been on for 25 years.\u2019 I don\u2019t feel anywhere near done and that\u2019s good,\u201d voiced the actress.<\/span><\/p>\n

Being a show from the \u201990s with 25 seasons \u2013 also starring Ice-T<\/a><\/strong>, Stephanie March<\/a><\/strong>, Peter Scanavino<\/a><\/strong>, and more \u2013\u00a0it became a great hit.\u201cI\u2019m just so proud of the stories we\u2019ve told and the lives we\u2019ve affected and the way we\u2019ve moved the needle toward healing\u2026I am privileged and I know it and I\u2019m grateful for it,\u201d she expressed to the outlet.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Mariska added, \u201cIt\u2019s been incredible. It\u2019s been 25 years and I haven\u2019t been able to take it in until this year. I think [because of] the milestone of it all.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Throughout her time playing a police detective, she ironically ran into a situation where Olivia and her motherly skills had to kick in. She remembered the time she helped a young girl<\/a> trying to find her mother. \u201cIt was so natural and normal. It wasn\u2019t really an Olivia moment. It was a little girl that couldn\u2019t find her mom and there\u2019s nothing more important than that \u2014 nothing\u2026It was so natural and so easy and it didn\u2019t really require thought. It was instincts. It was just maternal instincts\u2026This little angel girl was in need and we connected and I could see that. So I did what any mother on this planet would do. I got to hug her mom and her, and it was beautiful,\u201d said Mariska about the moment earlier this year.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
