Prince William<\/strong> <\/a>provided a heartfelt update about his wife, Princess Kate<\/strong><\/a>, amid her cancer battle. While commemorating the 80th anniversary of the D-Day Landings from World War II, the Prince of Wales, 41, was asked by a veteran how his wife, 42, is feeling.<\/p>\n

As seen in a social media video<\/a> shared on Wednesday, June 5, William bent down to speak to the veteran, who asked if Kate was \u201cgetting any better.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cYes, she\u2019d have loved to be here today,\u201d William responded. He also pointed out to the veteran that he was \u201creminding everyone [that Kate\u2019s] grandmother served at Bletchley Park, so she had quite a few in common with some of the ladies here who were at Bletchley.\u201d<\/p>\n

While shaking hands with the veteran, William added, \u201cIt\u2019s lovely to see you. I will see you in five years\u2019 time for the 85th.\u201d<\/p>\n

Since March, Kate has been focusing on her recovery from an undisclosed form of cancer. At the time, the Princess of Wales explained<\/a> that this was the reason she hadn\u2019t been seen in public for months.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London and at the time, it was thought that my condition was non-cancerous,\u201d she explained in the video message shared on March 22. \u201cThe surgery was successful. However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.\u201d<\/p>\n

While calling her husband a \u201cgreat source of comfort and reassurance,\u201d Kate pointed out that her diagnosis \u201ccame as a huge shock,\u201d and she and William \u201chave been doing everything [they] can to process and manage this privately for the sake of [their] young family.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Prince and Princess of Wales share children Prince George<\/strong>, Princess Charlotte<\/strong> and Prince Louis<\/strong><\/a> together.<\/p>\n

Less than two months later, Kate celebrated her and William\u2019s daughter\u2019s 9th birthday. Despite her health condition, the royal captured a bright snapshot of Charlotte for social media.<\/p>\n

Last week, a family friend claimed that Kate was \u201cdoing a lot better\u201d<\/a> amid her treatment while speaking to Vanity Fair<\/em>. The unnamed friend further noted that the mother of three \u201cis tolerating the medication\u201d that she is taking.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
