Colton Underwood<\/strong><\/a> isn\u2019t shocked by the NFL\u2019s response to Harrison Butker<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Benedictine College commencement speech. During a new interview, the former football player, 32, reacted to how professionals in the league reacted to Harrison\u2019s remarks.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not surprising to me,\u201d Colton told Us Weekly<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Tuesday, June 4, adding that the NFL\u2019s reach is \u201cglobal\u201d now. \u201cLook, I\u2019ve been a part of it. At the end of the day, they\u2019re making a business decision. I think that is what needs to be said. The NFL, as much as it is a sport, it\u2019s an entertainment business.\u201d<\/p>\n

Although Colton did not specify whose statements he was referring to, Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid<\/strong> reacted to Harrison\u2019s remarks in a press conference earlier this month. \u201cWe\u2019re a microcosm of life here, from different areas, different religions, races and so we all get along and we all respect each other\u2019s opinions,\u201d Andy said. \u201cWe respect everybody to have a voice, that\u2019s the great thing about America.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, NFL senior vice president and chief diversity and inclusion officer Jonathan Beane<\/strong> noted that Harrison\u2019s \u201cviews are not those of the NFL as an organization.\u201d<\/p>\n

Harrison\u2019s commencement address sparked a nationwide outrage. While addressing the graduates of Benedictine College in Kansas on May 11, he called Pride Month a \u201cdeadly sin\u201d and noted that \u201cone of the most important titles\u201d for women was being a \u201chomemaker.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cSome of you may go on to lead successful careers in the world, but I would venture to guess that the majority of you are most excited about your marriage and the children you will bring into this world,\u201d Harrison said.<\/p>\n

The Chiefs kicker went on to note that without men, society would have \u201cdisorder, dysfunction and chaos.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs men, we set the tone of the culture,\u201d Harrison said, adding, \u201cThis absence of men in the home is what plays a large role in the violence we see all around the nation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Furthermore, Harrison criticized President Joe Biden<\/strong> <\/a>\u2014 whom Harrison and his teammates recently visited at the White House \u2014 as \u201ca man who publicly and proudly proclaims his Catholic faith, but at the same time is delusional enough to make the Sign of the Cross during a pro- abortion rally.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe has been so vocal in his support for the murder of innocent babies that I\u2019m sure to many people it appears that you can be both Catholic and pro-choice,\u201d Harrison added about the president.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
