As a launch commentator explained during NASA\u2019s livestream, the ground launch sequencer is the computer that takes over the terminal count and essentially launches the rocket. \u201cThe reason for that hold is not known at this time,\u201d he said. Starliner\u2019s next chance to fly is tomorrow at 12:03PM ET, but whether it does will depend on the outcome of the team\u2019s investigation into today\u2019s issue.<\/p>\n<p>In a brief update, <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/blogs.nasa.gov\/boeing-crew-flight-test\/2024\/06\/01\/nasa-boeing-crew-flight-test-launch-scrubs-saturday\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:NASA;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:1;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">NASA<\/a> said the launch was scrubbed \u201cdue to the computer ground launch sequencer not loading into the correct operational configuration after proceeding into terminal count.\u201d Why this happened, though, remains unclear. \u201cThe ULA team is working to understand the cause,\u201d NASA said.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been <a data-i13n=\"elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1\" class=\"link \" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/starliners-first-crew-mission-gets-pushed-back-yet-again-this-time-with-no-new-launch-date-163020007.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:delay after delay for Starliner;elm:context_link;elmt:doNotAffiliate;cpos:2;pos:1;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\">delay after delay for Starliner<\/a>, which was initially supposed to take its first flight with astronauts on board back on May 6. If it can&#8217;t launch on Sunday, it&#8217;ll have other opportunities on June 5 and June 6.
