{"id":226905,"date":"2024-06-01T06:59:41","date_gmt":"2024-06-01T06:59:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/michigandigitalnews.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/01\/dcs-worlds-new-f-4e-phantom-getting-key-patch-to-radar-and-bugs\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T17:18:11","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T17:18:11","slug":"dcs-worlds-new-f-4e-phantom-getting-key-patch-to-radar-and-bugs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michigandigitalnews.com\/index.php\/2024\/06\/01\/dcs-worlds-new-f-4e-phantom-getting-key-patch-to-radar-and-bugs\/","title":{"rendered":"DCS World\u2019s new F-4E Phantom getting key patch to radar and bugs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/05\/dcs_phantom-900x462.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>DCS World (or Digital Combat Simulator) if you prefer recently attracted a whole lot of new attention when sim aircraft dev Heatblur Simulations released its new F-4E Phantom fighter jet for the ever-popular combat flight sim.<\/p>\n<p>Eagle Dynamics\u2019 DCS World may be deemed as a hardcore sim that greatly benefits from having all the right gear, but that didn\u2019t stop players clamoring to get into the new cockpit and pushing the game right back up the Steam charts shortly after the Phantom\u2019s release.<\/p>\n<p>The jet has been in development for ages and when released Heatblur said on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/heatblur\">its Facebook page<\/a>, \u201cAfter a few years of hard work; we\u2019re finally here. Thank you for being with us on this journey, for your support, love, and endless encouragement. Thank you for being excited for what we\u2019ve created and we truly hope you\u2019ll enjoy flying our recreation of the F-4.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><noscript><iframe title=\"DCS: F-4E PHANTOM II - LAUNCH TRAILER\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6b6DKfTsc7c?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/noscript><\/p>\n<p>With an undertaking of this size, however, it was inevitable that one or two issues were going to slip through the bug catchers and Heatblur is now hard at it to get hotfixes and patches out to fix things up.<\/p>\n<p>The main issue seems to be radar-related in highly populated areas of the game with many blips causing big performance drops. A post on the DCS forums suggests a fix will be incoming sooner rather than later:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re hotfixing a few issues in the radar that cause a massive drop in very very busy scenarios, as found on ECW. Hopefully, a hotfix will be available soon.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No while there is no timeline yet with this project being a labor of love we are pretty sure a fix won\u2019t be far out.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Heatblur also suggested a fix for those playing in VR that were suffering from a wonky UI, stating \u201cVR UI Cut-off: for this, please ensure that you check the \u201cUse DCS Resolution\u201d checkbox in your DCS misc. settings. This will hopefully correct this issue.
