Princess Kate<\/strong> <\/a>will not be the Inspecting Officer at this year\u2019s Trooping of the Colour event amid her cancer battle,<\/a> the palace confirmed. Moreover, she will skip the dress rehearsal for the event next month, according to multiple outlets<\/a>. However, it\u2019s unclear whether or not she plans to attend the event, which is scheduled to take place on June 15.<\/p>\n

Last week, a spokesperson for Kensington Palace noted that the Princess of Wales, 42, is still committed to her duties \u2014 primarily her Royal Foundation Business Taskforce for Early Childhood \u2014 despite not being able to attend public events at the moment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is a clear commitment she has made throughout her life of public service that this will be focus,\u201d the representative told Daily Mail<\/em> <\/a>on May 21. \u201cThat will continue when she returns to work. But we have been really clear that she needs the space and the privacy to recover right now.\u201d<\/p>\n

While adding that Kate \u201cwas the driving force behind the business task force,\u201d the spokesperson pointed out that she \u201chas been kept up to date since the inception of the task force, and she has read the report and been briefed on it.\u201d However, she is unable to make a full return to her duties until she gets \u201cthe green light from doctors,\u201d the rep concluded.<\/p>\n

In March, Kate revealed that she was diagnosed<\/a> with an undisclosed form of cancer. She explained in a video message that it was discovered after she underwent a planned abdominal surgery, which was \u201csuccessful,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment,\u201d she explained at the time.<\/p>\n

Acknowledging that her diagnosis \u201ccame as a huge shock\u201d to her and her family, Kate pointed out that her priority was to follow her doctors\u2019 orders and to assure her children, Prince George<\/strong>, Princess Charlotte<\/strong> and Prince Louis<\/strong><\/a>, that she is \u201cgoing to be OK.\u201d The royal shares her kids with husband Prince William<\/strong><\/a>, who has been a \u201cgreat source of comfort and reassurance\u201d to Kate, she said in her video.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy work has alway brought me a deep sense of joy, and I look forward to being back when I\u2019m able,\u201d she said, before concluding, \u201cBut for now, I must focus on making a full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
