Princess Kate<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s is on the mend<\/a>, according to friend close to the royal family. In a new report by Vanity Fair<\/a>,<\/em> the unnamed source \u2014 whom the publication noted is a pal of Kate\u2019s \u2014 claimed that the 42-year-old is \u201cdoing a lot better\u201d since she was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer earlier this year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been a great relief that she is tolerating the medication and is actually doing a lot better,\u201d the friend told the outlet in its report published on Tuesday, May 28. \u201cIt has, of course, been a very challenging and worrying time.\u201d<\/p>\n

The pal added that Kate\u2019s husband, Prince William<\/strong><\/a>, and her whole family have \u201crallied around her,\u201d including \u201cher parents, and her sister and brother.\u201d<\/p>\n

Earlier this month, Daily Mail<\/em> <\/a>reported that Kate is not expected to resume her public duties<\/a> until later this year. However, PEOPLE<\/em><\/a> reported that Kate was recently seen<\/a> out and about with family and by herself running errands.<\/p>\n

The Princess of Wales\u2019 health has become a major concern around the world. In January, she underwent a \u201cplanned\u201d abdominal surgery. Although the palace insisted this wasn\u2019t a problem, Kate later revealed<\/a> that she was diagnosed with cancer.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I\u2019ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful,\u201d Kate explained in a video announcement shared to social media in March.<\/p>\n

The royal went on to note that she had been taking time to process her diagnosis and to explain to her children that she is \u201cgoing to be OK.\u201d Kate and William, 41, share kids Prince George<\/strong>, Princess Charlotte<\/strong> and Prince Louis<\/strong> <\/a>together.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs I\u2019ve said to [my children], I am well, and getting stronger every day by focusing on the things that will help me heal, in my mind, body and spirits,\u201d she added at the time.<\/p>\n

After Kate explained her condition to the world, her and William remained out of the public eye for weeks until he returned to his public engagements by the spring. Earlier this month, the Prince of Wales was asked by hospital administrator, Tracy Smith, about Kate\u2019s health, according to a video shared by Sky News<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe\u2019s doing well,\u201d William responded before adding, \u201cThank you.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
