Moreover, the strength of our relationships is the most critical factor determining our happiness, according to Harvard researchers\u2019<a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2023\/01\/14\/keys-to-happiness-the-good-life\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \"> longest study on happiness<\/a> to date.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Eager to find solutions to <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/manage-email-meeting-fatigue-spring-clean-work-life\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">workplace burnout<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2024\/03\/29\/lonely-work-how-feel-more-connected-10-minutes\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">loneliness<\/a>, and high turnover, SoulCycle founders Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice are joining other <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2024\/02\/28\/employees-mental-health-crisis-zeera-chief-well-being-officer\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">entrepreneurs<\/a> who are shifting or expanding their platforms to create opportunities for connection at work beyond the watercooler Slack channel.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt sounds very simple, but we don\u2019t know our colleagues anymore,\u201d Rice tells <em>Fortune, <\/em>who is now in the business of relational health.\u00a0\u201cWe underestimate just how important human skills are to give people. And ironically, these are the things that are the most important in our lives that we certainly weren\u2019t taught in school.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Cutler and Rice launched <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2023\/02\/22\/peoplehood-wellness-studio-soulcycle\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">Peoplehood<\/a>, which is described as a \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplehood.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">workout for your relationships<\/a>,\u201d as they found people swore by their workout for more than a good sweat\u2014they loved connecting with others. The NYC-based platform offers hour-long sessions for individuals and couples led by facilitators who help people share stories, meet new people, build trust and empathy, and learn how to communicate better. Today, Peoplehood announced their new offering for the workplace, Peoplehood <a href=\"https:\/\/www.peoplehood.com\/work\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">@Work<\/a>, whose mission is rooted in engaging HR and team leads to invest in improving culture, safety, and camaraderie.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>People, on average, spend around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gettysburg.edu\/news\/stories?id=79db7b34-630c-4f49-ad32-4ab9ea48e72b#:~:text=Writer%20Annie%20Dillard%20famously%20said,on%20your%20quality%20of%20life.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">90,000 hours <\/a>of their lives at work, according to an analysis by workplace expert and author <a href=\"https:\/\/www.wiley.com\/en-us\/Happiness+at+Work%3A+Maximizing+Your+Psychological+Capital+for+Success+-p-9781119965749\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">Jessica Pryce-Jones<\/a>. And, the majority of workers say their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businesswire.com\/news\/home\/20230124005390\/en\/5376295\/Managers-Impact-Our-Mental-Health-More-Than-Doctors-Therapists-%E2%80%94-and-Same-as-Spouses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-d963e821-0 eclfSM  \">boss<\/a> plays a more significant role in their mental health than a doctor or therapist.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Companies can send their teams or managers to Peoplehood, either in person or virtually, to kick off a bonding retreat or participate in ongoing monthly sessions, for example.
