When\u00a0Katy Perry<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>steps away from\u00a0American Idol\u00a0<\/em>after seven seasons, she has some opinions on who should replace her! The popstar, 39, revealed that there\u2019s a country star (who seems to be gaining more fans by the day) that she thinks would be an excellent person to fill her space at the judge\u2019s table in a new interview with\u00a0E! News\u00a0<\/em>on Tuesday, April 16.<\/p>\n

While a replacement for Katy has not yet been revealed, she admitted that she thinks that none other than\u00a0Jelly Roll<\/strong><\/a> would be a fabulous edition to the\u00a0Idol\u00a0<\/em>judges. \u201cI gotta say\u00a0Jelly Roll was crazy when he came on the show,\u201d she told\u00a0E!<\/em><\/a> \u201cI was convinced at anything he said. He could run for president, he could be my pastor, I might go back to church for him. He could sell me anything.\u201d<\/p>\n

After revealing her \u201clove\u201d for the \u201cNeed a Favor\u201d singer, Katy reassured that he would be great with\u00a0Luke Bryan\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Lionel Richie<\/strong>. \u201cAnd to have any of these guys plus Jelly on the show would be amazing. I love you, Jelly!\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Katy revealed that she would be leaving\u00a0<\/a>Idol<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>after season 22<\/a> in February. \u201cI love\u00a0Idol<\/em> so much. It\u2019s connected with me like the heart of America. But I feel like I need to go out and feel that pulse, that pulse to my own beat,\u201d she said during an appearance on\u00a0Jimmy Kimmel Live.<\/em> \u201cI have some things planned for this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

While speaking to\u00a0E! News<\/em>, Katy also revealed that she thinks a \u201ctruth teller\u201d would be a good person to take her place. \u201cI want someone that is not afraid to tell the truth in a graceful way,\u201d she told\u00a0 the outlet.<\/p>\n

Even though Katy\u2019s replacement has not been officially announced yet, there is an\u00a0Idol\u00a0<\/em>alum who has made her interest in judging known<\/a>:\u00a0Jordin Sparks<\/strong>. \u201cOh hiiii\u00a0<\/span>@AmericanIdol<\/span>\u2014I hear a seat opened up at the judges table! I\u2019m putting my name in the hat!\u201d she wrote on social media.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
