The fifth and final member of the family we have in for review today is the Realme 12+. As its name suggests, the Realme 12+ stands a notch above the vanilla Realme 12 in terms of specs and features.

The Realme 12+ is a fairly cheap device. It is available in multiple markets, including India, where it starts at INR20,999 ($255/€230). That’s a pretty budget price point, and there is plenty of value up on offer here. The Realme 12+ is a pretty complete package. It looks quite premium on the outside and is well-built with IP54 ingress protection. Other standout features include a stereo speaker setup and a 3.5mm audio jack. You also get NFC in certain markets. Charging is quite fast, rated at 67W.

Realme 12+ specs at a glance:

Body: 163.0×75.5×7.9mm, 190g; Glass front, silicone polymer back (eco-leather), plastic frame; IP54, dust and splash resistant.

Display: 6.67″ AMOLED, 120Hz, HDR10+, 600 nits (typ), 2000 nits (peak), 1080x2400px resolution, 20:9 aspect ratio, 395ppi.

Chipset: Mediatek Dimensity 7050 (6 nm): Octa-core (2×2.6 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55); Mali-G68 MC4.

Memory: 128GB 8GB RAM, 256GB 8GB RAM, 512GB 12GB RAM.

OS/Software: Android 14, Realme UI 5.0.

Rear camera: Wide (main): 50 MP, f/1.9, 26mm, 1/1.95″, PDAF, OIS; Ultra wide angle: 8 MP, f/2.2, 16mm, 112-degree, 1/4.0″, 1.12µm; Macro: 2 MP, f/2.4.

Front camera: 16 MP, f/2.5, 24mm (wide), 1/3.0″.

Video capture: Rear camera: 4K@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps, gyro-EIS; Front camera: 1080p@30fps.

Battery: 5000mAh; 67W wired, 1-50% in 19 min (advertised).

Connectivity: 5G; Dual SIM; Wi-Fi 6; BT 5.2; NFC.

Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers; 3.5mm audio jack.

The 6.67-inch flat display boasts excellent specs, including AMOLED tech, 120Hz refresh rate, DHR10+ support and 2,000 nits of peak brightness. A fairly modern Dimensity 7050 chipset powers the Realme 12+. Memory configs include 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB. Storage is expandable via microSD.

The camera setup on the Realme 12+ looks quite versatile on paper and includes a 50MP main camera Sony camera with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro on the back and a 16MP selfie. It is worth noting that the main camera can capture video at up to 4K@30fps.

Unboxing

The Realme 12+ ships in a sturdy cardboard two-piece package in the company’s signature yellow color. There is some plastic inside the box. The cradle for the phone is made of plastic, which is not ideal in terms of ecological choices.

The accessory package is fairly generous. You get a 67W SuperVOOC charger in the box alongside a USB Type-A to Type-C cable. Both are proprietary, so you should keep track of them. A clear TPU case is inside the box, so you can start using your new phone immediately. The phone itself even has a pre-applied plastic screen protector.

[ad_2]

Source link

[ad_1] Introduction The Realme 12 family is sprawling, so to say, and now includes five phones – Realme 12, Realme 12 Pro, Realme 12 Pro+,

[165
