In an <a data-i13n=\"cpos:1;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.androidauthority.com\/vpn-by-google-one-shut-down-3433530\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:email;cpos:1;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">email<\/a> you&#8217;re going to receive from Google if you haven&#8217;t gotten it yet, it revealed that it&#8217;s phasing out the perk sometime later this year. The company rolled out Google One&#8217;s VPN feature back in 2020, but you could only access it then if you&#8217;re paying for a plan with at least 2TB of storage, which costs at least $10 a month. Last year, the company <a data-i13n=\"cpos:2;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/google-ones-vpn-will-soon-be-available-to-all-subscribers-170006417.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:expanded;cpos:2;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">expanded<\/a> its availability across all One plans, including the basic $2-per-month option, making it more affordable than before.<\/p>\n<p>At the moment, you can access One&#8217;s VPN service if you&#8217;re in one of the 22 countries where it&#8217;s active, whether you&#8217;re on iOS or Android. You can also use it to mask your internet usage <a data-i13n=\"cpos:3;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/google-one-vpn-mac-windows-pc-desktop-170040951.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:on a Mac or Windows computer;cpos:3;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \">on a Mac or Windows computer<\/a>. Google didn&#8217;t say when the VPN service will stop working completely, but it told <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/9to5google.com\/2024\/04\/11\/google-one-vpn-discontinued\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:9to5Google;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><em>9to5Google<\/em><\/a> that it&#8217;s discontinuing the feature because &#8220;people simply weren\u2019t using it.&#8221; Instead of trying to drum up interest, it&#8217;s redirecting its resources to support other and more in-demand One features.
