Astronomers searching for extraterrestrial life tend to look for specific signals, either in the form of \u201cbiosignatures\u201d \u2013 molecules that are only produced by biological processes<\/a> \u2013 or \u201ctechnosignatures\u201d, abnormal patterns of light that may have been produced by technologies.<\/p>\n
