Minnie Driver<\/strong> <\/a>will not forget her experience filming the 1998 film Hard Rain<\/i>. In a new interview on SiriusXM\u2019s I Weight with Jameela Jamil <\/i>podcast<\/a>, the actress recalled difficult working conditions that left her feeling uncomfortable.<\/p>\n

\u201cI remember we were in 20 million gallons of water,\u201d Minnie, 54, shared on April 2. \u201cThey built a town. It\u2019s set during this massive storm. There were huge rain machines. We shot crazy hours. It was tough, like it was a tough movie, but everybody else could wear a wetsuit underneath their costume. And I was told by the producers that I couldn\u2019t because they wanted to see my nipples, and that there was no point in having the wet T-shirt if you couldn\u2019t have what was underneath it.\u201d<\/p>\n

According to Minnie, \u201cIt was very kind of plainly told, like, \u2018You are an idiot if you don\u2019t understand that this is what\u2019s going on.\u2019 And I remember saying, \u2018This is wrong.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

The Oscar nominee remembered calling her agent to share the story. Soon after, the Good Will Hunting <\/i>star realized people wouldn\u2019t speak to her on set.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was so punished for it,\u201d Minnie alleged. \u201cIt was leaked to the press that I\u2019d called and complained about conditions. But it was if there were nothing to complain about and that I were just complaining.\u201d<\/p>\n

Because the movie took seven months to shoot, Minnie said she eventually questioned if she made the right decision by speaking up.<\/p>\n

\u201cEventually, you do turn on yourself,\u201d she shared. \u201cYou do go, \u2018It was my fault for saying anything, you stupid big mouth. You should have shut up.\u2019 And that goes in and then alters the way in which you kind of see yourself and your natural inclination to put your hand up and go, this isn\u2019t right.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Minnie didn\u2019t name any producers by name, Hard Rain<\/i> costume designer Kathleen Detoro<\/strong> told Variety<\/i><\/a> that full wetsuits and pieces were supplied to all cast and crew including \u201ctops, bottoms and booties\u201d and \u201cno expense was spared to keep actors and crew as dry as possible in an action water film.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cActors don\u2019t like wearing wetsuits under their clothes,\u201d Kathleen told the publication. \u201cVery uncomfortable. \u2026Actors received full wet suit: shortie wet suit, tops, bottoms and booties. It is up to actor to decide what parts they wear or don\u2019t wear.\u201d<\/p>\n
