Today OpenAI has announced the next step in its strategy of expanding the availability of AI tools. You can now use ChatGPT without an account.<\/p>\n

More than 100 million people use ChatGPT across 185 countries on a weekly basis, and the company is hoping that lifting the account requirement will convince even more people to give its chatbot a try.<\/p>\n

The ability to use ChatGPT without an account is rolling out gradually, so it may not be available immediately to all, but it is definitely coming.<\/p>\n

Don’t forget that, by default, OpenAI uses what you tell ChatGPT to improve its models for everyone. If you don’t want it to record your interaction with the chatbot, you can turn this off through Settings – even without an account.<\/p>\n

If you do decide to create an account at some point, then you’ll get the ability to save and review your chat history, share chats, as well as unlock additional features like voice conversations and custom instructions.<\/p>\n

OpenAI says it’s also introducing “additional content safeguards”, like blocking prompts and generations “in a wider range of categories”, without naming any specifics.<\/p>\n
