This has been caught in a database showing its name and two model numbers, one for the Indian market, the other for global markets – so we even know where it will launch.

The Redmi A3x will have the model number 24048RN6CG globally, and 24048RN6CI in India, as “G” and “I” are the suffixes for those markets for Xiaomi, Redmi, and Poco devices.

The “2404” part of the string strongly hints at a launch this month (the fourth of 2024), but don’t take that as a given – there have been cases in the past where the actual launch trails what’s indicated in the model number.

Unfortunately no specs for the Redmi A3x have been outed so far, but given its name, we expect it to be a slightly modified iteration of the already available A3.

The Redmi A3, by the way, comes with a 6.71-inch 90 Hz LCD display, the MediaTek Helio G36 SoC at the helm, 3/4/6GB of RAM, 64/128GB of expandable storage, an 8 MP rear camera flanked by a 0.08 MP decorative lens, a 5 MP selfie snapper, and a 5,000 mAh battery with support for 10W wired charging.
