Tori Spelling<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>opened up about why she ultimately filed for divorce from\u00a0Dean McDermott<\/strong>,<\/a> her husband of 18 years, during an episode of her misSPELLING\u00a0<\/em>podcast on Sunday, March 31. The actress, 50, revealed that she ultimately decided to file after Dean, 57, spoke about their relationship troubles in a recent interview. \u201cI just filed for divorce. Whoa, I just said the words that I\u2019ve said in my head for, like, 16 years. Wild,\u201d she said early in the podcast.<\/p>\n

During the podcast<\/a>, Tori called Dean to tell him about the news going public. \u201cI feel like I deserve to file first, then. You basically put it all out there with the\u00a0Daily Mail<\/em>,<\/a>\u201d she said, per Entertainment Tonight<\/em>. \u201cYou said everything that you\u2019ve done to me all through the years. So I think it would make perfect sense that it\u2019s followed up with I would file. Because those are things that I would never have divulged to somebody.\u201d<\/p>\n

In Dean\u2019s November 2023 interview<\/a>, he spoke about the alcohol-fueled argument<\/a> that led to him announcing that they were splitting on Instagram. \u201cMy worst memory with Tori is that last fight when I was drunk and angry. It was the night that I raged against her and the children and I saw the light, the final flicker of the flame go out in her eyes,\u201d he told\u00a0Daily Mail.\u00a0<\/em>\u201cAfter I sent the post,<\/a> I took some more pills, and I took six or seven Ambien in the hopes that I would not wake up.\u201d<\/p>\n

Dean\u2019s side of the conversation couldn\u2019t be heard on Tori\u2019s podcast, but she did end the call by saying, \u201cI love you.\u201d She continued and spoke about their relationship and said that they had an instant connection, but their relationship changed once they began having kids. The\u00a0Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em> star also shared more details about the fight that Dean, who is now sober,<\/a> opened up about. \u201cHe said, \u2018Ugh, I\u2019m so sick of this. I have been picking up Tori Spelling\u2019s s**t for 18 years.\u2019 And I f**king lost it,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

Tori filed her paperwork for her divorce from Dean on Friday, March 29. She named their separation date as June 17, 2023. She cited \u201cirreconcilable differences\u201d<\/a> as the reason. She requested joint legal custody of their five children.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
