Rebel Wilson<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about her health. The 44-year-old Pitch Perfect<\/em> franchise star is releasing her memoir, Rebel Rising<\/em>, and it unpacks several personal details from her life. During a recent interview, she revealed that she struggled with eating habits and therefore tried Ozempic<\/a>\u00a0to lose weight.<\/p>\n

\u201cI wasn\u2019t dealing with my emotions properly, I was just stuffing my face and holding on to them,\u201d Rebel told The Sunday Times<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Sunday, March 31, telling the publication that she was on Ozempic for a brief time. \u201cSomeone like me could have a bottomless appetite for sweets, so I think those drugs can be good,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

The How to Be Single<\/em> actress also pointed out that she feels \u201cstrongly that young women shouldn\u2019t try to obsess over looking like Victoria\u2019s Secret models \u2014 they should just look like themselves.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI know that my relationship with food is complicated,\u201d she continued.<\/p>\n

Rebel explained in her memoir how she developed her past eating habits, citing her abusive late father as the catalyst. He died in 2013. While describing one incident with him, Rebel claimed that he hit her as a child and got mad at her mother for trying to name her Rebel when her real name was Melanie.<\/p>\n

\u201c\u2018I\u2019m going to choke you and kill you if you say one more thing, Melanie,’\u201d Rebel wrote in her memoir about what her father allegedly told her years ago. \u201c\u2018I\u2019m going to throttle you.’\u201d<\/p>\n

While speaking to the British outlet over the weekend, the Australia native acknowledged that her eating habits stemmed from an abusive childhood.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn those moments when I was worried or scared, I turned to food,\u201d she explained. \u201cI think because I saw my mum do it. Everybody has a coping mechanism \u2014 eating is mine.\u201d<\/p>\n

After she lost weight, Rebel noted that she\u2019s found a weight and body shape that she\u2019s satisfied with, describing herself as \u201cstill curvy and solid.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rebel\u2019s upcoming book \u2014 which is slated to come out on Tuesday, April 2 \u2014 tells her story of exploring her sexuality<\/a>, falling in love<\/a> with her fianc\u00e9e, Ramona Agruma<\/strong><\/a>, and her alleged on-set work experience<\/a> with Grsimby<\/em> co-star Sacha Baron Cohen<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
