Circuit ruled Friday that Meta \u201chas not satisfied the stringent requirements\u201d for an injunction pending appeal for any of its five constitutional challenges. \u201cNone has a likelihood of success,\u201d the court ruled.<\/p>\n<p>The decision is Meta\u2019s latest defeat this month in a string of rulings over whether the FTC can reopen a 2020 privacy settlement covering allegations that the company breached terms after receiving a $5 billion penalty in 2023. US District Judge Randolph Moss\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bloomberg.com\/news\/articles\/2024-03-15\/meta-loses-second-bid-to-thwart-ftc-s-revisions-to-privacy-pact\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-c908bf88-0 iyWINF\">denied<\/a>\u00a0Meta\u2019s request for a preliminary injunction on March 14, finding that if the FTC is correct in its claim that Meta is putting consumer privacy at risk, it would be in the public interest for it to move ahead.<\/p>\n<p>Central to the FTC\u2019s proposed amendments to Meta\u2019s settlement is the prohibition on capitalizing on minors\u2019 data and broadening restrictions on facial recognition technology. Accusations leveled against Meta include allegations of deceptive practices regarding parental assurances regarding child protection measures.<\/p>\n<p>The case is\u00a0<em>Meta Platforms, Inc. v.
