Despite living life behind bars<\/a> for several years, Gypsy Rose Blanchard<\/b><\/a> got married. The 32-year-old officially wed her husband, Ryan Scott Anderson<\/b>, in 2022. However, they ended up separating<\/a> just three months after she got out of prison.<\/p>\n

\u201cPeople have been asking what is going on in my life,\u201d Gypsy reportedly wrote via Facebook on March 28, 2024. \u201cUnfortunately, my husband and I are going through a separation, and I moved in with my parents home down the bayou. I have the support of my family and friends to help guide me through this [sic]. I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find who I am.\u201d<\/p>\n

The now-estranged spouses had plans for a family and more. Ryan even gushed about his wife when she appeared for an interview on The View <\/em>on January 5, 2024.<\/p>\n

Who Is Gypsy Rose\u2019s Estranged Husband Ryan?<\/h2>\n

Ryan is from Lake Charles, Louisiana. He\u2019s a middle school special education teacher and sent her a letter while she was in prison back in 2020. \u201cWe met when the pandemic was really, really strong and I had a lot of emotional ups and downs because of COVID,\u201d Gypsy Rose tells PEOPLE<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ryan reached out to Gypsy Rose because of Tiger King<\/em>, the hit Netflix docuseries. \u201cMy co-worker at the time was like \u2018I want to write Tiger King<\/em>.\u2019 I said, \u2018I\u2019ll tell you what, if you write him, I\u2019ll write Gypsy Rose Blanchard. I never thought she\u2019d be my wife,\u201d Ryan reveals.<\/p>\n

In his letter to Gypsy Rose, Ryan told her \u201ceverything\u201d about him. She eventually responded and said the \u201cmain reason\u201d she did was because he was from her home state of Louisiana. They began corresponding via email, and he was smitten from the moment he heard her voice.<\/p>\n

Gypsy Rose admits in her interview that Ryan has been her \u201cemotional backbone for the last 3 years.\u201d She continues, \u201cRyan has seen me through some really good times, some really hard times. I would say that he is probably the most compassionate soul that I\u2019ve ever met, and the most patient. God knows, he\u2019s so patient with me, because I could be a lot to handle. I could be an emotional handful.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Did Gypsy Rose Get Married?<\/h2>\n

Despite meeting in 2020, Gypsy Rose and Ryan didn\u2019t meet in person until July 2021. They obtained their marriage license in Chillicothe, Missouri, on June 27, 2022, according to\u00a0The Springfield News-Leader<\/em><\/a>. They married in a small prison ceremony on July 21, 2022.<\/p>\n

Gypsy Rose revealed that she wanted to have a wedding reception after being released from prison. \u201cWe do plan on having a reception\/redo wedding with all of our family and our friends and the dress and the cake and everything because we deserve that. I deserve that. He deserves that,\u201d she told PEOPLE<\/em>. \u201cOur prison wedding was just something to where we can make our vows to each other. It was something that meant something to us. And I think the party is kind of for everybody else and us, but mostly for everybody else.\u201d<\/p>\n

The spouses have had their struggles. They appeared to have split shortly after they tied the knot in June 2022 in Missouri. That November, Gypsy informed her family that she was planning on filing an annulment, per In Touch<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with a heavy heart that this morning I made a decision to go ahead and file for annulment and end my marriage with Ryan,\u201d a letter from Gypsy Rose read. \u201cMy marriage ends with no fault to either of us. I believe we are just in different places in our lives, and find it too difficult to walk a path together, at this point.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

However, neither Gypsy Rose nor Ryan ever filed the paperwork for an annulment. By mid-2023, she confirmed that they had decided to stay together. In response to former Bachelorette<\/i> star Josh Seiter<\/b><\/a>, Gypsy Rose blasted him for sending her a flirtatious email.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know who you are, or why you chose ME to try and find your 15 minutes of fame, but I have friends everywhere, and I know what lies you\u2019ve told online,\u201d she replied. \u201cI am a married woman, my [husband\u2019s] name is Ryan Anderson, and we do NOT appreciate crazy people like you spreading lies. \u2026 I may look cute, but I have a smart-ass mouth, and I\u2019m not afraid to tell you to go f**k yourself.\u201d<\/p>\n

After all their ups and downs, Gypsy Rose and Ryan are looking forward to starting their life together. However, Gypsy admits that the situation is a little bittersweet. \u201cIt\u2019s hard because I\u2019m going into a new life and I\u2019m newly married, and I\u2019m going to have kids one day, and I\u2019m going to have to explain to my kids why their grandmother on mommy\u2019s side isn\u2019t around. And that\u2019s going to be a really hard conversation,\u201d she tells PEOPLE<\/em>.<\/p>\n

What Have They Said About Each Other?<\/h2>\n

After getting out of prison, Gypsy Rose gushed about Ryan on a few occasions. During her interview on\u00a0<\/a>The View,<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>she praised his kindness (and skills in the kitchen). \u201cHe\u2019s just so genuine,\u201d she quipped. \u201cLet me tell you, he\u2019s an amazing cook. I say that\u2019s 25 percent of why I married him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ryan also recounted how they met, after he wrote her a letter in prison. \u201cI thought she was beautiful and loved her story, and the first page of my letter was telling her what her story meant to me. Then, I ended it with, \u2018It\u2019s not fair that everybody knows so much about you, and you know nothing about anybody else,’\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

In addition to her kind words about Ryan, she also revealed that they have a great sex life<\/a> in an Instagram comment, while responding to some haters. \u201cYou are rocking my world every night\u2026yeah I said it, the D is fire,\u201d she wrote. \u201c\u201cHappy wife, happy life.\u201d<\/p>\n

Who Else Has Gypsy Rose Dated?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Previously, Gypsy Rose was engaged to her ex-fianc\u00e9, Ken. The former duo met via her prison\u2019s pen pal initiative and got engaged in mid-2019. That August, however, the two broke off their engagement and split.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Before meeting Ken, Gypsy Rose was in a complicated relationship with ex-boyfriend Nicholas \u201cNick\u201d Godejohn<\/b><\/a>, who killed her mother, Clauddine \u201cDee Dee\u201d Blanchard<\/b><\/a>, in 2015. Although she gave him duct tape and a knife to carry out the murder, Gypsy Rose hid in the bathroom because she struggled to hear her mother scream.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Nevertheless, Nick recalled during his 20\/20<\/em> interview that he felt guilty about killing Dee Dee.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cWhen me and [Gypsy Rose] were in the hotel room \u2026 she kept on telling me, \u2018Stop crying, stop crying. There\u2019s no reason, reason to cry. It was my idea, it wasn\u2019t yours,\u2019\u201d he claimed. \u201cI \u2026 did what I did because I loved her. I really wanted a life with her, I really did.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

When Was Gypsy Rose Released From Prison?\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

Although Nick is serving a life sentence behind bars, Gypsy Rose was released<\/a> from Missouri\u2019s Chillicothe Correctional Center on December 28, 2023. She was seen leaving prison with Ryan<\/a> on the day of her release.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
