{"id":217062,"date":"2024-03-26T09:35:19","date_gmt":"2024-03-26T09:35:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/michigandigitalnews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/26\/microsoft-copilot-arriving-on-windows-but-still-awaiting-full-functionality\/"},"modified":"2025-06-25T17:19:55","modified_gmt":"2025-06-25T17:19:55","slug":"microsoft-copilot-arriving-on-windows-but-still-awaiting-full-functionality","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/michigandigitalnews.com\/index.php\/2024\/03\/26\/microsoft-copilot-arriving-on-windows-but-still-awaiting-full-functionality\/","title":{"rendered":"Microsoft Copilot arriving on Windows but still awaiting full functionality"},"content":{"rendered":"<p> [ad_1]<br \/>\n<br \/><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/03\/copilot-900x506.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Microsoft has announced the rollout of its Copilot artificial intelligence (AI) assistant across Windows 10 and 11 devices, but the new service does not appear to be operating with full efficiency at present.<\/p>\n<p>An official update last week confirmed <a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/microsoft-focuses-on-copilot-as-new-ai-surface-products-revealed\/\">Microsoft Copilot<\/a> was in operation, with the icon visible on the Windows taskbar but all isn\u2019t quite as it seems.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.microsoft.com\/blog\/2023\/09\/21\/announcing-microsoft-copilot-your-everyday-ai-companion\/\">official blurb<\/a> describes Copiot for Windows as \u201can AI-powered assistant that helps you get answers and inspirations from across the web, supports creativity and collaboration, and helps you focus on the task at hand.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although the AI assistant is embedded into Windows 11 version 23H2 devices by default, it is disabled on Windows 11 version 22H2 devices.<\/p>\n<p>Further to that, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.deskmodder.de\/blog\/2024\/03\/24\/copilot-app-wurde-still-und-heimlich-installiert-hinweis-auf-windows-12\/#comments\">Deskmodder<\/a> users have uncovered additional access on other Windows 11 devices but crucially, the app is not powering the actual Copilot functionality and range of attributes as it stands.<\/p>\n<h2>How to check if Microsoft Copilot is available on my device?<\/h2>\n<p>The app may not appear at first glance but once <a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/microsoft-edge-users-report-serious-issues-following-recent-update\/\">Microsoft Edge<\/a> is updated to the latest version, it will appear.<\/p>\n<p>To check if the <a href=\"https:\/\/readwrite.com\/microsoft-focuses-on-copilot-as-new-ai-surface-products-revealed\/\">Microsoft Copilot<\/a> tool is in use on your system, use the following path.<\/p>\n<p>Go to Settings &gt; Apps &gt; Installed Apps.<br \/>Change the sort order to \u201cDate installed\u201d or type Copilot into the search field.<br \/>If you see Microsoft Copilot listed, it is installed.<\/p>\n<p>You may also want to remove the app from your device with the uninstall option. Navigating to \u201cadvanced options\u201d will reveal further details.<\/p>\n<p>More information will be expected, but the findings from Deskmodder appear to indicate the Copilot app as a placeholder in its current form.<\/p>\n<p>Users may also have a different experience, depending on their region, but the overall offering is unclear.
