It\u2019s now dropped to to rates last seen at the exit from the pandemic-induced recession.<\/p>\n<p>Note that some have questioned the use of the earlier framework,\u00a0 pre-New Monetary Strategy laid out in August 2020 (see here for one reader\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/econbrowser.com\/archives\/2024\/03\/how-close-to-target#comment-310814\">critique<\/a>).
