The company says orders should arrive in 30 minutes or less, making high-flying drones about as fast as a <a data-i13n=\"cpos:4;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/melmagazine.com\/en-us\/story\/30-minutes-or-less-pizza-delivery-promise\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\" data-ylk=\"slk:standard pizza delivery in the 1980s;cpos:4;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>DoorDash also says that Wendy\u2019s is just the first restaurant partner, suggesting that more are on the way. The company believes that drones will offer more \u201cefficient, sustainable, and convenient delivery options for consumers.\u201d To that end, the online food delivery platform plans on opening up the program to more US cities throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p>If all of this sounds eerily familiar, you aren\u2019t imagining things. These types of pilot programs <a data-i13n=\"cpos:5;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/amazon-now-offers-drone-deliveries-for-prescription-medications-in-texas-163730205.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:have been popping up all over the place;cpos:5;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a>. This isn\u2019t even DoorDash and Wing\u2019s first partnership. The companies teamed up in 2022 to do something similar in Australia. The program was a success, eventually expanding to 60 participating restaurants in Queensland.<\/p>\n<p>Wing is the clear leader in this field. The company recently began offering <a data-i13n=\"cpos:6;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/wing-and-walmart-will-offer-six-mile-drone-deliveries-over-dallas-204501938.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:drone deliveries from Walmart;cpos:6;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> to Dallas consumers. Earlier this year, Wing <a data-i13n=\"cpos:7;pos:1\" href=\"https:\/\/www.engadget.com\/alphabets-wing-shows-off-a-larger-delivery-drone-with-a-bigger-payload-capacity-163148392.html\" data-ylk=\"slk:unveiled a new delivery drone;cpos:7;pos:1;elm:context_link;itc:0;sec:content-canvas\" class=\"link \"><\/a> that reaches speeds of 65 MPH, with a maximum payload capacity of five pounds.
