In light of Drake Bell<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s revelations about the sexual abuse<\/a> he faced at 15 years old, his former Drake & Josh<\/em> co-star, Josh Peck<\/strong><\/a>, has faced backlash<\/a> on social media about his apparent silence on the situation. However, Peck, 37, \u201creached out\u201d to Bell, 37, the \u201cI Found a Way\u201d musician revealed in a new TikTok<\/a> video posted on Wednesday, March 20.<\/p>\n

\u201cI just want to clear something up. I\u2019ve noticed a lot of comments on some of Josh\u2019s TikToks and some of his posts,\u201d Bell began in his video. \u201cI just want to let you guys know that this is really \u2014 processing this and going through this is a really emotional time, and a lot of it is very, very difficult. So, not everything is put out to the public.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bell then clarified that Peck \u201chas reached out to [him], and it\u2019s been very sensitive.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cBut he has reached out to talk with me and help me work through this,\u201d Bell continued before adding that Peck \u201chas been really, really great. So, just wanted to let you guys know that and to take it a little easy on him.\u201d<\/p>\n

One day later, Peck released his own statement via Instagram<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI finished the Quiet on Set<\/em> documentary and took a few days to process it,\u201d Peck began, before adding, \u201cI reached out to Drake privately but want to give my support for the survivors who were brave enough to share their stories of emotional and physical abuse on Nickelodeon sets with the world. Children should be protected. Reliving this publicly is incredibly difficult, but I hope it can bring healing for the victims and their families as well as necessary change to our industry.\u201d<\/p>\n

Bell and Peck\u2019s posts came after Peck started to receive countless comments on social media about Bell. Many pointed out that he hasn\u2019t publicly addressed his former co-star\u2019s violating experience at the hands of former Nickelodeon dialogue coach Brian Peck<\/strong> (no relation to Josh Peck), which Bell unpacked during the second episode of ID\u2019s Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was sleeping on the couch where I usually sleep and I woke up to him \u2014 I opened my eyes and I woke up and he was \u2026 he was sexually assaulting me,\u201d Bell recalled. \u201cAnd I froze, and was in complete shock and had no idea what to do or how to react.\u201d<\/p>\n

In 2004, Brian pleaded no contest to a charge of oral copulation with a minor under 16 and a charge of performing a lewd act with a 14 or 15-year-old. Brian spent 16 months in prison and was ordered to register as a sex offender. Bell\u2019s identity in the case remained a secret until now. In response to the musician\u2019s revelations in Quiet on Set<\/em>, Nickelodeon provided a statement to Hollywood Life<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cNow that Drake Bell has disclosed his identity as the plaintiff in the 2004 case, we are dismayed and saddened to learn of the trauma he has endured, and we commend and support the strength required to come forward,\u201d the network said.<\/p>\n

In a separate statement, Nickelodeon reacted to the other allegations that former staff members made against separate crew members.<\/p>\n

\u201cThough we cannot corroborate or negate allegations of behaviors from productions decades ago, Nickelodeon as a matter of policy investigates all formal complaints as part of our commitment to fostering a safe and professional workplace environment free of harassment or other kinds of inappropriate conduct,\u201d the network noted. \u201cOur highest priorities are the well-being and best interests not just of our employees, casts and crew, but of all children, and we have adopted numerous safeguards over the years to help ensure we are living up to our own high standards and the expectations of our audience.\u201d<\/p>\n

Peck and Bell had a falling out in their friendship years ago. Peck released his book, Happy People Are Annoying<\/em>, in 2022, which claimed that he hadn\u2019t talked to Bell in a while amid his legal woes<\/a>. In response, Bell\u2019s now-estranged wife, Janet<\/strong><\/a>, called Peck a \u201cliar\u201d on social media.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
