Images of Princess Kate<\/strong><\/a> aren\u2019t the only ones facing controversy. Now, a picture of Meghan Markle<\/strong><\/a> and Prince Harry<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s son, Archie<\/strong><\/a>, is making headlines after the photo agency Getty Images reportedly issued a warning to news outlets, labeling the shot as \u201cdigitally enhanced.\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n

Getty did not elaborate why the picture was given this label. The shot was captured by photographer Chris Allerton shortly after Archie\u2019s christening took place in 2019. The image features Meghan, 42, holding their then-2-month-old son, sitting next to Harry, 39. The pair are surrounded by Harry\u2019s brother, Prince William<\/strong><\/a>, Kate, King Charles III<\/strong><\/a>, Queen Camilla<\/strong><\/a>, Meghan\u2019s mother, Doria Ragland<\/strong> and Princess Diana<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s sisters. Archie, now 4, was wearing a traditional white christening outfit at the time.<\/p>\n

In addition to Archie, Meghan and Harry also share their daughter, Lilibet<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

In response to the \u201cdigitally enhanced\u201d label, Chris provided a statement to Daily Mail<\/a> e<\/em>arlier this week. The fashion photographer called it a \u201cload of cobblers.\u201d<\/p>\n

The news comes amid ongoing buzz about images of Princess Kate, 42. The uproar began on March 10, when the Princess of Wales shared a photo of her and William\u2019s children \u2014 Prince George<\/strong>, Princess Charlotte<\/strong> and Prince Louis<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 in honor of Mother\u2019s Day in the U.K. The Associated Press notified media outlets that the picture had been \u201cmanipulated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAt closer inspection it appears that the source has manipulated the image,\u201d the AP explained. \u201cNo replacement photo will be sent.\u201d Later that week, Instagram labeled<\/a> the post as \u201caltered.\u201d<\/p>\n

Kate promptly apologized for \u201cediting\u201d the image<\/a>, penning a brief statement to X (formerly known as Twitter) and to her Instagram Stories. She called herself an \u201camateur photographer\u201d and explained that she tweaked the snapshot but didn\u2019t intend to cause a problem.<\/p>\n

\u201cLike many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing,\u201d Kate confessed. \u201cI wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused. I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother\u2019s Day.\u201d<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, the internet exploded with conspiracy theories that \u2014 amid Kate\u2019s absence due to her hospitalization<\/a> in January \u2014 there were AI-generated photos<\/a> of the royal circulating online. Even when she was spotted out and about<\/a> with William, 41, earlier this week, social media users questioned the authenticity of the video<\/a> of Kate shopping at a local farm store in the U.K.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
