The most popular YouTuber in the world is bringing his brand of viral content to Amazon<\/a> Prime to create the world\u2019s largest game show ever made.<\/p>\n Jimmy Donaldson, aka MrBeast, boasts 245 million subscribers and many more casual viewers that tune in to watch challenges<\/a>\u00a0like \u201cI paid a real assassin to try to kill me\u201d or \u201cStop this train, win a Lamborghini\u201d that typically cost a seven-digit figure to make.<\/p>\n In a\u00a0podcast<\/a>\u00a0on Monday, Donaldson said there were only two stipulations both parties agreed to for the new show\u2014it needed to have the most contestants ever as well as boast the biggest cash prize in history. And no expense would be spared.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cEvery episode is going to be like our biggest YouTube video ever,\u201d he told popular creator news channel\u00a0Colin and Samir<\/em>. \u201cMoney is not a constraint.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s saying something because his 20-minute videos currently cost upwards of $3.5 million each just to make, according to Donaldson, with some running as high as $5 million when everything is included.<\/p>\n Big news gamers I\u2019m going to be filming the largest game show in history and releasing it on Prime Video! I\u2019ll reveal more later this year but let\u2019s just say, it\u2019s gonna be an insane show \ud83d\ude00<\/p>\n \u2014 MrBeast (@MrBeast) March 18, 2024<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n The\u00a0YouTube personality<\/a>\u00a0wouldn\u2019t reveal much about the show\u2019s concept lest some clever contestants gain an edge, but he was already finished scripting, and filming is due to start in a couple of months.\u00a0<\/p>\n All told, Donaldson expects at least 10 episodes and more than six hours of content that would likely air either in November or December. Beforehand, Donaldson expects to post a prelude to the first episode on his channel so people can see for themselves whether it\u2019s worth their time.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cWith that much effort I am putting into this I need everyone to watch it\u2014I am going all out,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n The stakes are high for the 25-year-old to prove he can flourish beyond the confines of social media and attract viewers from all backgrounds and walks of life.\u00a0<\/p>\n He said he was all too aware of the challenges and prejudices he and other\u00a0content creators<\/a>\u00a0faced every time they sought to expand into the mainstream, particularly when it came to interference by media executives who insisted on always having the final say.<\/p>\n \u201cIt could either have a massive positive effect and every streaming platform is going to be throwing deals left and right at creators, or a negative effect and people are going to go \u2018if Jimmy couldn\u2019t make a hit show, what makes you think you can?\u2019,\u201d he said. \u201cAnd that is one of my biggest fears.\u201d<\/p>\n That\u2019s why, despite already having proved his ideas work on YouTube, Donaldson said one condition was particularly important for him from the outset.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cLet\u2019s just say Amazon will give us the most creative control,\u201d he said, \u201cand by \u2018most\u2019 I mean \u2018all.\u2019\u201d His viewers after all are accustomed to nothing less.\u00a0<\/p>\n Amazon Prime Video has been on a mission to\u00a0grab viewers<\/a>\u00a0from dominant rival Netflix<\/a>. Yet while shows like\u00a0The Boys<\/em>\u00a0and Reacher<\/em>\u00a0have enjoyed success, its\u00a0lavishly expensive<\/a>\u00a0tentpole J.R.R. Tolkien epic\u00a0The Rings of Power<\/em>\u00a0flopped<\/a>.<\/p>\n But that won\u2019t stop the deep-pocketed tech giant from\u00a0paying top dollar<\/a>\u00a0for new content, reportedly agreeing to distribute Donaldson\u2019s game show for the price of\u00a0$100 million<\/a>. And unlike the demands of its rivals, no strings were attached.\u00a0<\/p>\n \u201cThey\u2019ll let me do whatever I want, and other platforms didn\u2019t,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n Donaldson assuaged fans that the six-hour show wouldn\u2019t distract from his day job as a YouTuber, however. He plans to upload more videos to his main channel this year than last.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t want it to mess with the YouTube channel in any way,\u201d he said. \u201cThat has always been my number one priority and always will be, because at the end of the day we get 200 million views a video and that\u2019s why I\u2019m able to do all this other stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n
