For the last decade, he\u2019s focused on fitness, as the president of Club Pilates and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rumbleboxinggym.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">Rumble Boxing<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Grove believes his dedication is what has allowed him to hang so many things on that hypothetical hat rack.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019m dedicated to achieving the goals I set for myself. I have always had a high level of confidence and belief in myself, which has helped me to succeed in many different career endeavors,\u201d Grove tells <em>Fortune<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Grove says he also believes his past experiences help shape the leader he is today. He shared that he would never ask his team to do anything he wouldn\u2019t do himself.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve always looked at myself as being \u2018of service\u2019 to something greater than myself. Anyone working in the FBI must have that mindset, and that has carried over into my leadership roles at Club Pilates and Rumble now,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Despite Grove\u2019s busy schedule, he says he always tries to have a structured routine. No matter how tight his schedule is for the day, Groves gets in some form of exercise.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I have a little more time, I can do a full workout, in which case I prefer to do some functional fitness. I like lifting weights, also working in some high-intensity Rumble training when I can. If I\u2019m a little short on time, I still make <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2023\/01\/24\/mindfulness-exercises-anxiety-lexapro\/?utm_source=search&amp;utm_medium=suggested_search&amp;utm_campaign=search_link_clicks\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">exercise<\/a> a priority and do something like <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2023\/10\/27\/walking-pace-speed-daily-steps-live-longer\/?utm_source=search&amp;utm_medium=suggested_search&amp;utm_campaign=search_link_clicks\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">walking<\/a> the dog for a half hour,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>Groves also attributes exercise to helping him limit any stress that accumulates from work.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMovement is medicine.\u201d<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5. <strong>Taking mental health breaks<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Regardless of how busy or stressful his day gets, Groves says he always sets aside moments throughout the day to take a deep breath, even if it\u2019s just five minutes.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt can go a long way toward being more productive and level-headed,\u201d says Groves.<\/p>\n<p>Overworking and burnout can lead to high levels of <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/fitness-trackers-wearables-help-manage-stress\/?utm_source=search&amp;utm_medium=suggested_search&amp;utm_campaign=search_link_clicks\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">stress<\/a>, anxiety, exhaustion, worsened job performance, and even depression. It\u2019s important to take a beat when you need it. Try taking a short walk away from your desk, switching tasks to something less stressful, or prioritizing a hobby you enjoy after work to clear your mind.<\/p>\n<p>Groves also believes in tackling challenges right when they arise, to avoid further exacerbating the stress.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf I\u2019m feeling something, I try to express it in a constructive or professional way in the moment so negativity doesn\u2019t fester. if you bottle things up or brush them under the rug, they\u2019ll come back later as a bigger problem,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6. <strong>Spending time with loved ones<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Groves says he usually <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/2022\/10\/14\/shared-meals-lower-stress-improve-wellbeing\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">eats dinner with his family<\/a> after his work day ends. He carves out time to spend with friends whenever he can, too.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStaying connected with friends and family is important. Having a healthy work-life balance helps me perform better in the hours I am working,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">7. <strong>Reflecting<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Groves always tries to end his day with <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/well\/article\/jay-shetty-daily-habit-30-seconds-randomness\/?utm_source=search&amp;utm_medium=suggested_search&amp;utm_campaign=search_link_clicks\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">self-reflection<\/a> and planning for the next.
