We thank customers for their patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Notably, the issue is not related to a cybersecurity event.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Social media users in the UK had reported being unable to place orders online on Friday morning. Issues there and in Ireland have now been resolved, the company said in a separate statement.<\/p>\n<p>Problems were also occurring in Germany and other markets during the morning in Europe, a spokesperson said, saying the company is still seeking details.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s shares were down 0.5% in premarket US trading.<\/p>\n<p>The problems, which first appeared in Asia, found restaurants in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mcdelivery.com.tw\/tw\/error\/maintenance-complete.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">Taiwan<\/a>\u00a0halting phone and online ordering due to system maintenance, while McDonald\u2019s Japan said many outlets across the country were forced\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/McDonaldsJapan\/status\/1768552729729958306\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">to suspend<\/a>\u00a0their operations.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the New Zealand Herald\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/nz\/reports-mcdonalds-stores-nationwide-cant-take-any-orders-serve-food\/OUGOYINTHJCCZN5A3R6FE77SXU\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">reported<\/a>\u00a0stores were unable to take orders and Australian broadcaster 7News\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/7news.com.au\/news\/mcdonalds-stores-across-australia-hit-by-widespread-outages-c-13963989\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">said<\/a>\u00a0restaurants across the country had been impacted by the outage. Singapore\u2019s Strait Times\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.straitstimes.com\/tech\/mcdonald-s-online-services-down-amid-reported-outages-in-asia-pacific-region\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">said<\/a>\u00a0ordering services on the McDonald\u2019s app were down in the city-state.<\/p>\n<p>Still, some locations were getting back to business as usual. The McDonald\u2019s system in Hong Kong was gradually resuming normal operations and customers were able to use its app and self-ordering kiosks again, according to\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/story.php?story_fbid=799037272253129&amp;id=100064405913553&amp;mibextid=xfxF2i\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">a post<\/a>\u00a0published around 5 p.m. local time on its official Facebook page.
