(The last time TikTok tried to mobilize its user base to lobby government officials, it backfired. House officials were <a href=\"https:\/\/fortune.com\/2024\/03\/08\/will-tiktok-be-banned-congress-shutdown\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\" class=\"sc-47dba8f0-0 iRbseu styledLinkColor \">inundated with calls<\/a> from young people, many of whom were unable to vote, and lawmakers said the episode was proof the company could quickly mobile users to \u201cinterfere\u201d with government activities.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis legislation, if signed into law, will lead to a ban of TikTok in the United States. Even the bill\u2019s sponsors admit that\u2019s their goal,\u201d Chew said in the video. \u201cWe know how important TikTok is to all of you. \u2026 Protect your constitutional rights. Make your voices heard. Love you all.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chew said a ban on the platform would put 300,000 American jobs at risk and would give more power to rival social media companies. And he vowed to use all means at his disposal to prevent a ban from being enacted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will not stop fighting and advocating for you,\u201d Chew said in the video. \u201cWe will continue to do all we can including exercising our legal rights to protect this amazing platform that we have built with you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cProtecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act\u201d passed the House on Wednesday with widespread bipartisan support.
