Things began with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s24_generation_hits_record_preorders_in_the_netherlands-news-61462.php\">strong<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s24s_korea_preorders_off_to_a_record_start-news-61347.php\">pre-orders<\/a> and the momentum has kept up into the start of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s24_open_sale_begins_today-news-61394.php\">open sales<\/a>. Samsung increased its shipment target for the first quarter of 2024 to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_is_increasing_its_shipment_target_for_the_galaxy_s24_series-news-61507.php\">13 million units<\/a> (up from the original estimate of 12 million).<\/p>\n<p>Globally, sales of the Galaxy S24 series is 8% higher than the S23 models in the same period (January 28 to February 17). This doesn\u2019t sound like much, but some regions saw a more significant increase.<\/p>\n<p>Boosted by strong pre-orders in Western Europe (the UK, Germany and France in particular), the sales of S24 phones are up 28%. In South Korea, the flagship trio sold 22% more. In 2023, the Galaxy S23 Ultra accounted for 60% of total sales, while the S23 and S23+ were around 20% each.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s24_ultra-12771.php\">Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra<\/a> made up 52% of total sales, based on Counterpoint\u2019s data. Interestingly, the small <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s24-12773.php\">Galaxy S24<\/a> rose in popularity to 27% of sales. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gsmarena.com\/samsung_galaxy_s24+-12772.php\">Galaxy S24+<\/a>, which seemed such a promising upgrade, barely moved the to 21%.
