Robert Downey Jr<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong>has gone through so much to become one of the biggest names in Hollywood. The 58-year-old Avengers\u00a0<\/em>actor began landing regular roles throughout the 1980\u2019s, after making his debut in his father\u2019s 1970 flick\u00a0Pound<\/em>. Now, he\u2019s a Oscar winner<\/a>\u00a0for his outstanding work in Oppenheimer<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Behind the scenes, Robert married his first wife Deborah Falconer\u00a0<\/strong>in 1992, but by the mid-90s, his career faced issues, due to his struggles with addiction. Robert and Deborah divorced in 2004, shortly after he got sober in 2003. He\u2019s been married to producer\u00a0Susan Downey\u00a0<\/strong>since 2005, and has had a massively successful return to acting, with his most notable role being Tony Star throughout the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Indio Falconer Downey<\/h2>\n

Robert\u2019s first son\u00a0Indio<\/strong>, 30, was born to his first wife in September 1993. The only child from Robert\u2019s relationship with Deborah, Indio has dipped his toes into the entertainment world. He made an appearance in his dad\u2019s 2005 movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang,<\/em> where he played a younger version of the same character: Harry Lockhart. He also provided some music to the 2013 film\u00a0Jackie<\/em>, according to his IMDb<\/a>. Indio is also a part of the hard rock band The Dose, which he sings and plays guitar for. The group released their debut album\u00a0Saline<\/em> in 2019.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Indio also struggled with similar demons as his dad. He was arrested in December 2020 for cocaine possession, and a source close to the family told\u00a0People<\/em><\/a> that he\u2019d had problems with addiction in the past. \u00a0\u201cRobert clearly understands the struggle, and while of course this relapse was very upsetting to him, he is very proud of his son,\u201d the source said. \u201cIndio truly wants to stay clean.\u201d<\/p>\n

Robert\u2019s second wife Susan gave birth to Robert\u2019s second son Exton Elias,<\/strong> 11, in February 2012. The star spoke about his son shortly after his birth during an appearance on The Tonight Show With Jay Leno.\u00a0<\/em>He explained at the time that his wife\u2019s great uncle served as the inspiration for the name. \u201cMy wife\u2019s great-uncle Joe was kind of eccentric \u2014 when he was in fourth grade, he realized he didn\u2019t have a middle name, so he changed his name to J. Exton,\u201d he said, via\u00a0People<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Avri Roel Downey<\/h2>\n

Susan gave birth to his first and only daughter Avri Roel<\/strong>, 9, in November 2014. The actor seemed very excited to announce his little girl\u2019s birth. He tweeted<\/a> that Susan had given birth and announced his little girl\u2019s birth. He also hilariously wrote a Facebook status where he announced his daughter\u2019s birth like it was a film project. \u201cAfter 9 months of intensive development, Team Downey is pleased to announce our 2014 fall\/winter project,\u201d he wrote at the time. \u201c<\/span>Principal photography commenced 11-14 and will continue until she says, \u2018Dad! You are embarrassing me\u2026I\u2019m 30, this has gotta stop.’\u201d Avri\u2019s middle name is also a sweet tribute to both of her grandparents, according to\u00a0Bustle<\/em>.<\/a> Roel is apparently meant to incorporate the first two letters of Susan and Robert\u2019s parents. The\u00a0Iron Man\u00a0<\/em>actor\u2019s dad was also named\u00a0Robert<\/strong><\/a>, and his wife\u2019s mom\u2019s name is\u00a0Rosie Levin<\/strong>. Robert\u2019s mom was\u00a0Elsie Ford<\/strong>, and Susan\u2019s dad\u2019s name is\u00a0Elliot Levin<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
