Silicon Valley venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz is aiming to raise $6.9 billion from investors for a new collection of funds, including two focused\u00a0on artificial intelligence, according to a person familiar with the matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The firm is raising the money for a master fund, with half the amount going to the firm\u2019s fourth growth fund, said the person, who asked not to be identified discussing private information. Two years ago, it\u00a0raised $5 billion<\/a>\u00a0for its\u00a0growth vehicle.<\/p>\n The remaining half of the new fundraise\u00a0will go toward two dedicated artificial intelligence funds, a gaming fund\u00a0and a fund to back startups in a field it calls\u00a0American Dynamism<\/a>, the person said. The firm defines American Dynamism as companies that\u00a0\u201caddress our most pressing issues\u201d in the US, including in sectors like aviation, defense\u00a0and manufacturing.<\/p>\n Andreessen Horowitz will\u00a0wait until next year before raising more cash for its crypto and bio funds, the person said.\u00a0Andreessen Horowitz dedicated\u00a0$4.5 billion to crypto funds<\/a>\u00a0in 2022.<\/p>\n The firm didn\u2019t immediately respond to a request for comment.
