Last month, Spotify\u2019s Joe Rogan renewed his deal with the streamer for an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/joe-rogans-podcast-is-coming-to-apple-amazon-and-youtube-under-new-deal-with-spotify-a5e838fa?mod=article_inline\" class=\"icon none\">estimated $250 million<\/a> and the \u201cSmartLess\u201d podcast moved from Amazon to SiriusXM<br \/>\n        <a data-track-hover=\"QuotePeek\" data-charting-symbol=\"STOCK\/US\/XNAS\/LSXMK\" class=\"qt-chip positive\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/stock\/LSXMK?mod=MW_story_quote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">LSXMK,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/207582816\/composite\" class=\"positive\">+0.70%<\/bg-quote><\/a><br \/>\n       in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theverge.com\/2024\/1\/29\/24054940\/smartless-media-departs-amazon-signs-multi-year-exclusive-pact-with-siriusxm-one-hundred-million?mod=article_inline\" class=\"icon none\">$100 million deal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCompanies want Jason and Travis Kelce\u2019s podcast because of the deep relationship they have with their audiences,\u201d Eric Silver, head of development at Multitude, a podcast collective studio and ad-sales provider, told MarketWatch. \u201cThat\u2019s the most important thing in podcasting.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>But with top podcasts getting multimillion-dollar deals, what type of payout could the \u201cNew Heights\u201d crew expect?<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI wouldn\u2019t be surprised if it was around the same as \u2018SmartLess.\u2019 I wouldn\u2019t be surprised if it was $100 million,\u201d Silver said, while comparing the current market for podcasters to a free-agency period in sports.<\/p>\n<p>The podcast industry has moved away from exclusivity in recent years. For example, popular shows like \u201cThe Joe Rogan Experience\u201d and \u201cCall Her Daddy\u201d were once available exclusively for Spotify subscribers, but now are available on all platforms.<\/p>\n<p>Although deals vary across the industry, a company that would pay the Kelces for \u201cNew Heights\u201d would be most interested in the advertising money, Silver explained. Essentially a company like Amazon<br \/>\n        <a data-track-hover=\"QuotePeek\" data-charting-symbol=\"STOCK\/US\/XNAS\/AMZN\" class=\"qt-chip negative\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/stock\/AMZN?mod=MW_story_quote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">AMZN,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/210331248\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-0.36%<\/bg-quote><\/a><span>,<\/span><br \/>\n       or Spotify or iHeartMedia<br \/>\n        <a data-track-hover=\"QuotePeek\" data-charting-symbol=\"STOCK\/US\/XNAS\/IHRT\" class=\"qt-chip negative\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/investing\/stock\/IHRT?mod=MW_story_quote\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IHRT,<br \/>\n        <bg-quote field=\"percentchange\" format=\"0,000.00%\" channel=\"\/zigman2\/quotes\/212244028\/composite\" class=\"negative\">-5.31%<\/bg-quote><\/a><br \/>\n       would pay a certain amount of money to the \u201cNew Heights\u201d owners, $100 million for example, and in exchange would keep all or most of the money the show makes from its advertisements or future branding deals.<\/p>\n<p>The podcast, which was already a big hit among football fans, saw a boost when Travis Kelce began <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketwatch.com\/story\/elon-musk-taylor-swift-is-right-to-be-concerned-about-private-jet-tracking-6a870a05?mod=weston-blasi&amp;mod=article_inline\" class=\"icon none\">dating Taylor Swift<\/a> last year, leading to more interest and listeners to their show.<\/p>\n<p>Jason Kelce, 36, has made $81.7 million in salary during his 13-year NFL playing career, and Travis Kelce, 34, has made $76.9 million in salary over his 10-year career with the Kansas City Chiefs.
