USDA Forest Service Places Public Fire Restrictions in Alabama\u2019s
\nNational Forests<\/span><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n

Montgomery, Ala. (October 30, 2023) <\/b>\u2014\u00a0 The USDA Forest Service is
\nalerting all forest visitors to be aware of specific fire restrictions placed
\nin Alabama\u2019s federal lands \u2013 Bankhead, Conecuh, Talladega and Tuskegee National
\nForests.\u00a0 Degrading fire hazard conditions have prompted Acting Forest
\nSupervisor Timothy Spivey to sign a forest closure order to restrict the public
\nfrom using fire or building campfires on the national forests except those
\nwithin developed recreation areas that are confined to receptacles designed for
\nfires.\u00a0 Commercially available fuel stoves (camp stoves) and backpacking
\nstoves are excluded from the restriction.\u00a0 Forest Service officials are
\nalso prohibiting possessing, discharging or using any kind of firework or pyrotechnic
\ndevice.\u00a0 The following public restrictions are effective on Oct. 30, 2023,
\nand will remain in effect until November 30, 2023, or terminated by a Forest
\nSupervisor. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n
