Everyone will love this tried and true recipe. It\u2019s so hearty and delicious! You\u2019ve got tender beef patties slow cooked in a mouthwatering onion and mushroom gravy. SO good over some mashed potatoes, egg noodles, or white rice!<\/p>\n<p>Just give your ground beef patties a quick sear, then throw everything in your slow cooker and let it slow cook on high for 3 hours, or low for 3. Home-cooked, hearty goodness with minimal prep! I\u2019m sure you\u2019ll have a lot of these ingredients on hand already. Check out the recipe card for exact measurements.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Ground Beef:<\/strong> The heart of the dish, lean ground beef is ideal. You could also use mushroom or vegetable broth if you prefer.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Cornstarch:<\/strong> So the gravy can thicken to perfection.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Water:<\/strong> Thins the cornstarch slurry for smooth mixing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Fresh Chopped Parsley (optional):<\/strong> A vibrant garnish that also adds a boost of flavor to the Crockpot Salisbury Steak.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Mashed Potatoes (for serving):<\/strong> The perfect accompaniment to soak up the delicious gravy. If you\u2019re looking for something easy, try these <a href=\"https:\/\/therecipecritic.com\/instant-pot-mashed-potatoes\/\" data-wpel-link=\"internal\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener\">Instant Pot mashed potatoes<\/a>!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-to-make-salisbury-steaks-in-a-crockpot\">How to Make Salisbury Steaks in a Crockpot<\/h2>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Add Vegetables to Pot<\/strong>: Place the sliced mushrooms &amp; onions in the bottom of the crock pot.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Beef Mixture<\/strong>: In a medium-sized mixing bowl add the ground beef, bread crumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, ground mustard, egg, salt, and pepper. Mix with your hands until combined. Then shape into 4 oval patties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sear<\/strong>: Heat the butter in a medium-sized skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and then cook for 3 minutes on each side. They don\u2019t need to be cooked all the way through, just browned.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li><strong>Layer<\/strong>: Layer the patties over the mushrooms and onions so they infuse the meat with flavor.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Gravy Mixture<\/strong>: In a medium bowl, add the beef broth, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce and then whisk to combine. Pour over the beef patties.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Slow Cook<\/strong>: Cook on high for 3 hours, or low for 5 hours.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thicken Gravy<\/strong>: Remove the patties from the crockpot and then set aside. In a small bowl add the cornstarch and water creating a slurry.\u00a0Then stir into the broth and let cook a few minutes until thickened.
