AS I wrote this, helicopters flew overhead, circling the city where I live. Even though San Francisco lost the Super Bowl against Kansas City, fans were partying \u2013 and police were on high alert. For good reason too, as the tragic mass shooting in Kansas City during post-game celebrations attests. In the US, big events often end in horrifying gun violence.<\/p>\n
