Wendy Williams<\/strong><\/a>, 59, has finally broken her silence amid ongoing public discussion of her health struggles<\/a>. One day after her aphasia and frontotemporal dementia diagnosis was revealed,\u00a0The Wendy Williams Show<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>alum released a statement to\u00a0PEOPLE\u00a0<\/em>about her recent illnesses<\/a>. \u201cI want to say I have immense gratitude for the love and kind words I have received after sharing my diagnosis of Aphasia and Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD),\u201d she said to the mag.<\/p>\n

The TV personality then went on to express her gratitude to her fans and supporters. \u201cLet me say, wow! Your response has been overwhelming,\u201d Wendy continued in the statement<\/a>. \u201cThe messages shared with me have touched me, reminding me of the power of unity and the need for compassion.\u201d She even revealed that she opened up about her diagnosis<\/a> in hopes of helping others. \u201cI hope that others with FTD may benefit from my story,\u201d the 59-year-old added. \u201cI want to also thank the Association for Frontotemporal Degeneration for their kind words of support and their extraordinary efforts to raise awareness of FTD.\u201d<\/p>\n
