Taylor Swift<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>has a lot of close friendships, but her bond with Emma Stone<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>is extra special. The \u201cAll Too Well\u201d singer, 34, and the Oscar winner, 35, met in 2008 and have supported each other in their respective careers ever since. Most recently, Taylor cheered on Emma when the Poor Things <\/em>actress won a Golden Globe Award<\/a> on January 7, 2024. Emma later said in the press room that she was \u201cvery happy\u201d to have Taylor\u2019s support on her big night.<\/p>\n

April 2008: Taylor and Emma Meet at the Young Hollywood Awards<\/h2>\n

Taylor and Emma first crossed paths at the Young Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles on April 27, 2008. The two stars took pictures together in purple dresses.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe met there three years ago, and then I listened to some of her music, and I wrote her an e-mail saying I liked her music, I swear,\u201d Emma told MTV News<\/a> in April 2010 as she recalled meeting Taylor. \u201cAnd then we started talking and hanging out,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n

April 2010: Emma Talks About Her Friendship with Taylor<\/h2>\n

Emma gushed over her bond with Taylor in the 2010 MTV News interview.<\/p>\n

June 2011: Emma Reveals She Heard Taylor\u2019s\u00a0Speak Now\u00a0<\/em>Album Early<\/h2>\n

While Speak Now<\/em> came out in October 2010, Emma revealed in an interview that she got to hear her friend\u2019s third studio album ahead of time.<\/p>\n

\u201cI was lucky enough to hear it pretty early on, so it\u2019s so exciting for it to be out and own the songs instead of just be singing them (in my head),\u201d she told MTV News<\/a> in June 2011. \u201cTaylor\u2019s a pretty normal girl. Emma presented Taylor with the Ultimate Choice Award at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards<\/a>. Taylor hugged Emma when she got on stage to give her speech.<\/p>\n

In an interview with Access Hollywood<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>on October 23, 2012, Taylor gushed over her bonds with both Emma and\u00a0Selena Gomez<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen Emma Falls In Love,\u201d<\/a> one of the vault tracks from Speak Now (Taylor\u2019s Version)<\/em><\/a>, is rumored to be about Emma. Taylor performed the song once during her\u00a0Eras Tour\u00a0<\/em>and told the crowd she wrote the track about one of her best friends. Fans think the song is about Emma\u2019s past relationship with\u00a0Kieran Culkin<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

January 2024: Taylor Swift & Emma Stone Sit Together at the Golden Globes<\/h2>\n

Taylor and Emma were seated at the same table at the 2024 Golden Globe Awards on January 7. Taylor\u2019s concert film, Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour<\/a><\/i>, was nominated for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement but it lost to\u00a0Barbie<\/em><\/a>. Emma won Best Actress in a Motion Picture \u2013 Musical or Comedy for Poor Things <\/em>and Taylor went wild cheering for her friend.<\/p>\n

In the press room later that night, Emma was asked<\/a> about Taylor\u2019s reaction to her win. \u201cWhat an a**hole,\u201d Emma jokingly said, before adding, \u201cI\u2019ve known her for almost 20 years. I was very happy she was there and she was also nominated tonight, which was wonderful.\u201d She cracked another joke and said, \u201cAnd yes, what an a**hole.\u201d<\/p>\n

February 2024: Emma Says She\u2019ll Never Joke About Taylor Again<\/h2>\n

Though Emma has joked about her pal in the past, she divulged in February of 2024 that she\u2019ll never make that mistake again. When asked by Variety<\/em> <\/a>for an interview published on February 21, about the incident in which she jokingly called Taylor an \u201ca**hole\u201d backstage at the Golden Globes, she walked it all the way back.<\/p>\n
